The first performance of the evening was spectactular. Two well-dressed men (Jonathan Demoor as Anton and Job Bovelander as Lodewijk)in front of the curtain, introducing in song their friend Charley, the title role played by master of physical comedy Jon van Eerd.The duo Anton and Lodewijk are leading the story throughout the show and their hysterical chemistry is lovely to watch
A show representative tells us that the tour will be postponed until 2019. 'The tour will now launch in 2019 with stops in St. Paul, Dallas, and Washington D.C. ahead of the previously announced run at New York City Center which will begin performances, as previously announced, on Tuesday, July 30,' says a rep. Bat Out Of Hell - The Musical has announced that Jordan Luke Gage will be taking on the lead role of Strat from 3 September.
Bat Out Of Hell - The Musical's lead Andrew Polec, who plays the character of 'forever young' Strat, is leaving the West End production of the show. Polec, who won the 'Joe Allen Best West End Debut' in the Stage Debut Awards 2017 for his performance as Strat, has been involved in the show since the beginning. He commented:
The producers of Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell - The Musical have announced five special performances when the audience will be able to sing along with the cast to the classic hits. These performances will take place on Tuesday 28 August, Tuesday 25 September, Wednesday 31 October, Tuesday 27 November and Monday 31 December. On Halloween (31 October) and New Year's Eve (31 December), the audiences will also have the option to come dressed as their favourite character from the show or from one of Meat Loaf's iconic videos. The best dressed audience member on each night will go home that evening with a Bat Out Hell - The Musical poster signed by Meat Loaf himself.
