Announcement of Winners of PenCraft Awards for Literary Excellence for...

The PenCraft Awards committee announces its complete list of the 2018 winners. The PenCraft Awards for literary excellence celebrates the best books submitted during the year into its annual competition. The 2nd Annual Pen Craft Award ceremony was held November 10, 2018. It was attended by winning authors and other guests ranging from bookstore owners, Chamber of Commerce Members, Hearst Media representatives and just lovers of books. It was a three-hour event opened by a talk given by B. Alan Bourgeois about the many ways Texas Authors INC can help in marketing literary works. Each of the winning authors also gave short acceptance speeches. Winners included three attorneys, military veterans, teachers, a minister, therapist and more. The PenCraft Awards is held to honor authors for their works and their contribution to the literary world. A PenCraft Award representative, Mark Wulf stated, "I am happy and excited to meet these excellent authors and hear what inspired them to write their books."

The Best Book of the year winner was Kishan Paul for The Second Wife: The Second Wife Series, Book 1, Published by Tantor Audio. The award for Best Fiction Book of the year went to Chris Kelsey for Where The Hurt Is, published by Black Rose Writing. The Best Non-Fiction Book of the Year Winner was Anne Howard for His Garden: Conversations with a Serial Killer published by Wild Blue Press.

There were 31 categories that had 1st Place winners, 12 categories that had 2nd Place winners and three runner-up awardees. The names of the recipients, the title of their winning books, the books' respective categories and the publishers are listed below:
