The BMI Foundation has announced seven members of the Tony-honored BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop as the winners of its annual Musical Theatre Awards, encompassing the Jerry Harrington Awards For Outstanding Creative Achievement in Musical Theatre, the Jean Banks Award, and the Ellen Schwartz Award for Outstanding Literary Merit in Lyric Writing. The awards were presented by BMI Director of Musical Theatre and BMI Foundation Board Member Patrick Cook during a ceremony held on June 17 at Broadcast Music, Inc.'s headquarters in New York City.

People's Light celebrates 15 years of madcap merriment with Cinderella: A Musical Panto. As "the nation's primary creator of such specialized tomfoolery" (Newsworks), People's Light has adapted the theatrical form of British pantomime into their own unique brand of holiday hilarity. Over 200,000 people ages 5-105 have attended the panto since People's Light began producing them over a decade ago. Each year, as a part of the Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program, 1812 Productions hosts residencies for three female solo artists, providing them with essential time and space to continue development of original solo works. This year, 1812 Productions and the Advisory Board of the Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program are pleased to award residencies to Folaranmi Afolayan, Pratima Agrawal, and Alexandra Tatarsky. The summer residencies will take place from Monday, July 9th through Sunday, July 15st.
