BroadwayWorld has learned that Michelle Williams has been advised by her doctors to take a leave of absence from performing. Lea Salonga, who originated the role in this production will play Erzulie from December 27 through its final performance on January 6.

Twin brothers Jack and Benny Lipson, professionally known as the critically acclaimed jackbenny, will make their San Francisco debut at the Sunday Social Club at Tosca Cafe on Sunday, December 16, at 7pm. The duo will present their two-act show featuring wittily provocative original songs, uniquely arranged covers, and friendly guest performers … all seasoned with the brothers' signature sibling shtick.

The critically acclaimed jackbenny will make their final residency appearance at the Lyric Hyperion Theatre in Silver Lake on Sunday, December 9, at 7pm. Percussionist Theo Seidmon will team with the Lipson duo along with special guests in a two-act show that features wittily provocative original songs, uniquely arranged covers, and friendly guest performers … all seasoned with the brothers' signature sibling shtick.  

It was announced today that the Tony Award winning Best Revival will close on Sunday, January 6, 2019. When it closes this production will have played 29 previews and 458 performances.

The Geffen is currently hosting a world premiere adaption of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Adapted by Jefferson Mays, Susan Lyons and Michael Arden, this one-man production features Mays taking on nearly 50 different roles in a new adaptation, which is based on the edited version Dickens himself used for public performances. Tony Award-winner Jefferson Mays (and his many characters) will grace the Gil Cates Theatre stage of the Geffen Playhouse for his one-man adaptation of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL, already in previews, with opening night set for November 7, 2018. Once On This Island announced today that the Grammy Award-winning artist and Destiny's Child singer Michelle T. Williams will return to Broadway as Erzulie in the Tony Award winning Best Revival starting Friday, November 30. Michelle T. Williams will play the role through Sunday, June 2, 2019.
