RSPC Announces Its Outdoor NYC Parks Tour This Summer

The first play featured in the touring series is “Playing Possum” by Holly Hepp-Galván. In this retelling of Mexican folklore, the story follows Possum's adventures where perhaps he plays one trick too many. Presented with both English and Spanish language elements, this play for families will have children laughing while they think about what it really means to be clever.

Founding Artistic Director Akia, announced today that Rising Sun Performance Company has invited 8 new artists to join its resident ensemble company. These artistic relationships grew from the company’s internal artistic development programs and virtual programming last season.

The play lineup has been announced for the Rites of Spring, Rising Sun Performance Company's upcoming Virtual Theatre Festival. BWW Review: BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL at Beck Center For The Arts/Baldwin Wallace University's Musical Theatre Program

Mention Lin-Manuel Miranda and the musical sensation Hamilton comes to mind. If not, then, In the Heights, which had a run at Beck Center last year, is noted. Few know Miranda also wrote both the music and lyrics, along with Tom Kitt and Amanda Green for Bring It On: The Musical, with book by Jeff Whitty, which is loosely based on the 2000 film of the same name. The script centers on the competitive world of cheerleading, with side stories about bullying, teen angst and determining what's important in the world.
