East West Players (EWP), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, continues its 44th season, themed Art Is..., with the west coast premiere of PO BOY TANGO, by Kenneth Lin. This production will be directed by the artistic director of The Chance Theater in Orange County, Oanh Nguyen. It will bring back to the EWP stage two of EWP's veteran actors, Jeanne Sakata and Dennis Dun and introduce African American actress Cece Antoinette.

Julie & Julia is the new comedy-drama, written and directed by Nora Ephron, depicting events in the life of famed chef Julia Child. Ephron's screenplay is adapted from two books: My Life in France, Child's autobiography, written with Alex Prud'homme, and a memoir by Julie Powell. Today Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the creative team for its world premiere of American Idiot. Based on the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, the show features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. American Idiot is being staged by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, who also collaborated with Armstrong on the story. It features the work of Olivier Award-winning choreographer Steven Hoggett and music supervisor Tom Kitt, the Tony-winning composer who provided string arrangements for the band's latest album, 21st Century Breakdown.
