In an unprecedented partnership, The Catastrophic Theatre and the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance will co-present a visiting production of WAKEY, WAKEY, created by Hyde Park Theatre (HPT) in Austin, TX. HPT Artistic Director Ken Webster directs the show and stars as Guy alongside co-star Rebecca Robinson. Playwright Will Eno will be in residence in Houston during the first weekend of performances. WAKEY, WAKEY is presented in a very limited run at the Jos Quintero Theatre at the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance. The play opens January 24th and runs through February 3rd. Kathleen Turner will join the cast of Donizetti's comedy La Fille du Régiment at the Metropolitan Opera February 7–March 2, in the non-singing role of the Duchess of Krakenthorp. She will perform alongside Pretty Yende in the role of Marie, and Javier Camarena as Tonio. Stephanie Blythe will play the Marquise of Berkenfield, with Alessandro Corbelli and Maurizio Muraro sharing the role of Sergeant Sulpice. Laurent Pelly's staging will be conducted by Enrique Mazzola.

The Office of the City Council will honor Sanford Meisner and The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre will be recognized with a Proclamation in honor of their 90th Anniversary. The Proclamation will be presented by NYC Council Member Ben Kallos at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre (340 East 54th Street) on Thursday, October 18th at 2 pm.

Theater Talk - the popular discussion show that has been a staple of New York- and later national- television for 26 years – will be ending as a weekly series. Executive Producer of Theater Talk Productions and co-creator of the show, Susan Haskins-Doloff, has announced an end to production of the program.
