Casting has been announced for week one of The Blank Theatre's 31st Annual Young Playwrights Festival. The first three of 12 winning plays by young playwrights aged 15–19 will be presented, for the first time since 2019, live on stage July 6–9.

Casting has been announced for week one of The Blank Theatre’s 30th Annual Young Playwrights Festival. Being presented as digital shorts, the first three of 12 winning plays by young playwrights aged 15–19 will be available to stream on Vimeo July 8–14.

The plays are Mama Bushwick is Dead by Elizabeth Shannon (age 17, from Frederick, MD); The Waiting Room by Abigail Milne (age 16, from Palo Alto, CA); and Las Mujeres de Los Ángeles by Lourdes Castillo (age 19, from New Orleans, LA).

 Independent distributor Row House Films has acquired theatrical and virtual cinema rights to the charmingly quirky indie road-trip comedy MONUMENTS, and will bring the film to select independent theaters for in-person and virtual-cinema screenings beginning June 4.

There will be two preview performances on Wednesday, February 26, and Thursday, February 27 at 8pm, and opening is set for Friday, February 28, at 8pm. The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Max Banta, Reed Campbell, Nikki DeParis, Wes McGee, Marguerite Moreau, and Siete White. Daniel Henning and Bree Pavey are the producers.

The Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) is proud to announce the dynamic 2018 Feature Film Competition Lineup. The award-winning Skylight Theatre Company will be accepting applications for the 4th round of its well-regarded Skylight PlayLab, headed by renowned playwright and screenwriter Shem Bitterman.
