As a comedian, Mawaan's unique hybrid of confessional stand-up and skilful physicality has taken the comedy world by storm. His 2018 Edinburgh show Juice was a critical and commercial success performing to sell out audiences and receiving 4 and 5 star reviews for his 'thirst-quenching joy-ride of a stand up set'. In 2019 he supported Jonathan on the UK leg of The Road to Beijing and is thrilled to be supporting him again in Australia.

Sundance Institute will gather 25 celebrated and revered expert voices across film, art, culture and science to award feature-length and short films shown at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival with 31 prizes, announced at a ceremony February 1. Short Film Awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 28. The Festival takes place January 23 through February 2 in Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance, Utah.

Amazon Studios today announced the first group of series regulars set to star in the new Amazon Original series based on stories from the iconic 'The Lord of the Rings' novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. Newly revealed cast members including Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman. Production will begin in February.

 CW Seed, The CW's free, ad-supported digital network, has acquired the second window, non-exclusive streaming rights to 14 series from BBC Studios. The pact will bring more than 200 episodes and 150 hours of scripted library content to the platform. The announcement was made today by Rick Haskins, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Digital Platforms, The CW.

20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment presents “The New Mutants,” an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. Rally the realm on December 3rd as HBO releases Season 8 and the complete collection of all eight epic seasons of one of the most talked about programs in TV history; Game of Thrones®. The epic final run of the television phenomenon will be released on Blu-ray and DVD, including special bonus features including 'Game of Thrones: The Last Watch', a documentary in two parts by filmmaker Jeanie Finlay chronicling the making of the final season. 

 HBO Max has picked up gen:LOCK for a second season following its success as Rooster Teeth's newest animated series. Starring Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Black Panther), the half-hour animated series focuses on a near-future dystopia undergoing a new, technologically driven world war. gen:LOCK originally premiered on Rooster Teeth. Season 2 of gen:LOCK will premiere on HBO Max and 90 days later will be available on Rooster Teeth for FIRST members.

Today, E! announced the commencement of voting for the 2019 “E! People's Choice Awards,” celebrating all forms of entertainment, chosen entirely by the people.  Starting with the fan nomination week back in August, E! engaged fans worldwide to submit their favorites in the various categories. Now it's time for them to select their choice from the eight nominees to determine the winner in each category representing movies, television, music and pop culture.

Alice Phoebe Lou has announced a string of US tour dates and an appearance at the Singularity Global Summit in San Francisco taking place 8/18 - 8/21. Right after the summit, Alice Phoebe Lou will perform stripped down sets and a short 25 minute set of her new alter-ego project, strongboiat the Swedish American Hall in San Francisco on 8/22 along with two more dates the same week ending in Victoria, Canada on 8/28. In October, Alice will perform with her whole band including a date at The Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn and Johnny Brenda's in Philadelphia.
