Kyla Garcia is the epitome of the experienced actor. She has performed off-Broadway, at the Globe in London, locally at Boston Court and the Lewis Family Playhouse, in several indie films, digital works, and most recently as 'Mrs. Zeller' in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Last summer, she took on a whole new (and deeply personal) challenge by debuting her solo show THE MERMAID WHO LEARNED HOW TO FLY at the Elephant at the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

As techno music plays and the stage lights come up in the Pamela Brown Theatre the audience is presented with an antiseptic, industrial brick wall with large windows and a set of chairs. It is here that Peter (David McElwee) is crashed out, slumping over the chairs while Karlie (Lexi Lapp) is jumping all over the room occasionally rummaging through a bag of junk food or talking on the phone. This is a hospital ER and this young couple is there because their daughter, Luna Gale, is sick. Unfortunately, Peter and Karlie are too.

Passage Theatre in Trenton Presents Tanya Saracho's SONG FOR THE DISAPPEARED; Cast Announced

Complete casting has been announced for the opening production of Passage Theatre's 30th anniversary season, Song for the Disappeared, a world premiere by Tanya Saracho. Directed by Alex Correia, the production will play Trenton's The Mill Hill Playhouse through October 25.

The competition recognizes the best in up-and-coming artists worldwide and acts as a benchmark for excellence in contemporary music. Winners were selected from 7,000 entries from all over the world and represent musical genres in contemporary music. More than $100,000 in cash and prizes is awarded to a total of 26 winners. 3Arts is honored to announce the ten recipients of its 8th annual 3Arts Awards, presented to women artists, artists of color, and artists with disabilities working in the performing, teaching, and visual arts. The 2015 recipients are: dancer Kris Lenzo and choreographer Stephanie Martinez; vocalist Frank Waln and instrumentalist Chihsuan Yang; teaching artists Benji Hart and Chris Silva; actors Allen Gilmore and Fawzia Mirza; and visual artists Cheryl Pope and Fo Wilson. 3Arts Awards honorees each receive an unrestricted $25,000 award to put to use according to their individual needs and priorities. To date, the Chicago-based, nonprofit granting organization 3Arts has awarded over $1.5 million in total grants to more than 100 Chicago artists in the past eight years.
