George Street Playhouse plans to SWEEP AUDIENCES off their FEET when they return to live theatre with KEN LUDWIG’s DEAR JACK, DEAR LOUISE a new romantic comedy directed by David Saint -- on stage at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center October 26 through November 21.

George Street Playhouse (GSP) is currently presenting the virtual play, Tiny Beautiful Things through May 23. Superbly directed by the Playhouse’s Artistic Director, David Saint, the play is based on the best-selling book by Cheryl Strayed, “Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar.”

The 2021 George Street Playhouse streaming season kicks off today with the comedy Bad Dates by Theresa Rebeck, starring Drama Desk winner Andréa Burns.

The play, which follows the single mother of a teen daughter as she goes in search of cute shoes, the perfect dress, and a romantic table for two at a great restaurant, will be available for viewing through March 14th.

Broadway’s Andréa Burns (On Your Feet; In the Heights) and television and film’s Maulik Pancholy (30 Rock; Weeds; Phineas and Ferb) will headline the start of George Street Playhouse’s newly announced 2021 season, starring in two hilarious full-length comedies audiences can stream at home. 

The Costume Industry Coalition will host a captivating conversation between Costume Designer Gabriella Slade, NYC Costume Shop Owner John Kristiansen, and Associate Costume Designer Lisa Zinni as they discuss the costume design and creation process of the iconic costumes from the international sensation Six The Musical. The party is hosted by CIC Associate Edwin Schiff.

The world premiere of 'Midwives' is now being performed by George Street Playhouse. This engrossing drama is based on the 1998 novel by Chris Bohjalian who wrote GSP's stage adaptation. The directorial talents of the Playhouse's Artistic Director, David Saint and the show's accomplished cast make this play unforgettable.

Bristol Riverside Theatre continues its 33rd anniversary season by partnering with the renowned Bedlam Theatre, out of New York City, to present a modern look at a classic Shakespearean tragedy. New York Times bestselling author Chris Bohjalian will bring his world-premiere stage adaptation of his novel Midwives to George Street Playhouse next month and kick off 2020 in George Street's new home at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. 

A Christmas Story, based on the popular 1983 movie of the same title, comes to the Morrison Center for a limited engagement as the second show of the 2019-2020 season. Set in Indiana in the 1940s, we see a simpler time, unpolluted by the violent and somewhat fearful ways of the 21st century. The Morrison Center did a fantastic job setting the stage for a beautiful scene of family, friends, and the frenzy that often happens during the Holidays. While waiting to go into the theatre, I noticed children were there with parents and older couples enjoying date night. There was a happy buzz circulating throughout the theatre; The feeling was contagious and simply put, welcoming. There aren't many musicals that resonate the feeling of community, this one definitely had it.
