Today we celebrate the first Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's Godspell, which opened on this day in 2011.

Just last month, industry-only staged reading of the 1962 musical I Can Get It For You Wholesale, based on the best-selling Jerome Weidman novel on Tuesday, June 6th. The musical has a score by Harold Rome (Fanny, Wish You Were Here, Destry Rides Again), book by Jerome Weidman (Fiorello!), revised book by John Weidman (Assassins, Pacific Overtures, Contact), music direction by David Chase (Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Nice Work If You Can Get It), and direction by Trip Cullman (Six Degrees of Separation, Significant Other).

On Monday, October 23, the Theater People podcast welcome's fellow podcaster Gillian Pensavalle of 'The Hamilcast.' For the episode, Pensavalle shares the origins of the popular HAMILTON-themed podcast. She also shares all the details of HAMILTON creator Lin-Manuel Miranda coming to her apartment and doing a 4-hour interview for the podcast.

BroadwayWorld has just confirmed that stage star Lindsay Mendez has joined the revival of Carousel!

The revival of Carousel is on its way to Broadway and it looks like stage star Lindsay Mendez may be joining the cast. No official announcement has been made, but an eagle-eyed viewer caught the actress's name up on the Imperial's marquee.

Princess Cruises celebrated the New York premiere of 'Born to Dance,' the latest offering from its first-of-its-kind partnership with Stephen Schwartz, Oscar, Grammy and Tony Award-winning composer of 'Wicked,' 'Godspell,' and 'Pippin.' Joining Schwartz aboard Regal Princess for the premiere was director/creator Daniel C. Levine ('Les Miserables,' 'Mamma Mia!'). Scroll down for photos from the premiere!

On Monday, October 9, the Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway and TV star Hlene Yorke. Helene made her Broadway debut in 2008 in GREASE. She went on to originate the role of Olive in BULLETS OVER BROADWAY and Evelyn in AMERICAN PSYCHO. On television, she is well known for her work on THE GOOD FIGHT, MASTERS OF SEX, and GRAVES.

On Monday, October 2, the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan. Jeremy Jordan made his Broadway debut in 2009's ROCK OF AGES. He went on to play the Tony alternate, appearing twice per week, in the 2009 revival of WEST SIDE STORY. In 2011 he originated the role of Clyde Barrow in BONNIE AND CLYDE. And he received his first Tony nomination for originating the role of Jack Kelly in 2011's NEWSIES.

Broadway's Lindsay Mendez (Wicked, Godspell, Grease, Significant Other) is returning to Feinstein's/54 Below this September with a brand new solo show that will explore the Golden Age of Broadway! Drawing from the gifted actress and singer's own musical favorites and influences, the show will also be reflective of Mendez's work as a teacher and how her students have inspired her journey as an artist. BroadwayWorld had the incredible opportunity to connect with Mendez before her shows to discuss her return; her biggest musical influences; and introducing the next generation to classic repertoire.

On Monday, September 11, Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway favorite Morgan James. For the episode, James shares her story of first moving to New York City to attend the Julliard School as a voice major. Attending Julliard had been a life-long dream and when she was wait listed, she had to get creative in order to make her admission a reality. After graduating and deciding to pursue a career in musical theater, James struggled to find work and had to figure out how she best fit into 'the business.'
