Maestro LUKE FRAZIER and THE AMERICAN POPS ORCHESTRA — Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra — have announced their all-star 2017-2018 season. The diverse line-up will include a tribute to legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin, a special evening combining yoga with the APO's favorite standards, a new family show based on the classic tale Around the World in 80 Days, and a program celebrating the wit of iconic songwriter Cole Porter. Unless otherwise noted, all shows are at the Orchestra's new home, Arena Stage at The Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth Street SW). The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) announced today a star-studded lineup of performers for the annual benefit concert, "Broadway Stands Up for Freedom," which will take place on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. This iconic concert was created 15 years ago by aspiring musical theater actors to highlight social injustices and civil rights issues through song and spoken word.

Last night at Alice Tully Hall, The Performing Arts Hall of Fame at Lincoln Center held its first-ever induction ceremony and gala. The inaugural class of honorees included legendary artists Plácido Domingo, Yo-Yo Ma, Audra McDonald, Leontyne Price, Harold Prince, and Louis Armstrong. The event also honored Lincoln Center's founding members, whose spirit of innovation made Lincoln Center possible. Hosted by CBS's Norah O'Donnell, the-one-night only exclusive celebration raised $1.1 million for the 10 arts organizations of Lincoln Center.
