Second Stage Theater has unveiled the complete cast for its upcoming world premiere production of Kate Douglas’ THE APIARY, directed by Kate Whoriskey.

Carole Rothman, the founder of Second Stage, the prestigious theater company that has launched the careers of some of the greatest American playwrights over the past 45 years, is leaving the company.

Second Stage Theater will present TOROS, written by Danny Tejera and directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, this summer at Second Stage Theater Uptown.

“Single Drunk Female” stars Sofia Black-D’Elia, Ally Sheedy, Sasha Compere, Lily Mae Harrington, Garrick Bernard, and Ian Gomez. Also in season two, Busy Phillips (“Cougar Town”) and Ricky Velez (“The King of Staten Island”) will recur, with Molly Ringwald and Charlie Hall also joining. The show is created by Simone Finch. Andy Sandberg, Artistic Director and CEO of the Hermitage Artist Retreat, announced that composer and theater artist Imani Uzuri has been selected as the third recipient of the Hermitage Major Theater Award.

Joining Amandla Stenberg (“The Hate U Give”) are Lee Jung-jae (“Squid Game”), Manny Jacinto (“Nine Perfect Strangers”), Dafne Keen (“His Dark Materials”), Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen & Slim”), Rebecca Henderson (“Inventing Anna”), Charlie Barnett (“Russian Doll”), Dean-Charles Chapman (“1917”) and Carrie-Anne Moss (“The Matrix”).

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 will present the world premiere production of YOUR OWN PERSONAL EXEGESIS, a new play by Julia May Jonas, directed by Annie Tippe, which will begin performances Saturday, November 19 and run for six weeks only through Saturday, December 31 at the Claire Tow Theater.  Opening night is Monday, December 5.

Natasha Lyonne hosted yesterday's episode of Saturday Night Live, the season 47 Finale. The show marked the last episode for four long-term cast members: Pete Davidson, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Kate McKinnon.

Goodman Theatre announced casting for Life After by rising star writer/lyricist/composer Britta Johnson, directed by Annie Tippe. Leading the cast of nine is Samantha Williams as teenaged Alice—a young woman who, in search of facts, uncovers a more complicated truth as she pieces together events of the fateful night that changed her family forever.

Freeform has renewed breakout comedy “Single Drunk Female,” starring Sofia Black D’Elia and Ally Sheedy, for a second season. Additionally, the young adult brand ordered wanderlust dramedy “While You Were Breeding,” based on the memoir from Kristin Newman (“Only Murders in the Building”), to series.

Two River Theater announces the cast and creative team for its third world premiere written by playwright Tony Meneses, The Hombres, which will be directed by Annie Tippe in the theater's Marion Huber Theater this spring.
