For its 64th annual production, Butterfly Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital is pleased to announce Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella will take place on March 4, 5 & 6, 2022 at the historic Palace Theatre located at 34 W. Broad St. This family-friendly, Broadway-quality production benefits the Hospice and Palliative Care Programs at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the only programs of its kind in central Ohio. The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm, and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. Lyndon Terracini for Opera Australia and John Frost for Crossroads Live today announced that the Tony® Award-winning Broadway production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella will play at Melbourne's Regent Theatre from 20 May next year, and at the Sydney Lyric Theatre from 23 October.

The role of Ella (Cinderella), a strong and intelligent young woman who dreams of escaping her endless chores so she might see the world, will be played by rising musical theatre star Shubshri Kandiah.

Tickets for the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of one of the most beautiful musicals of all time, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, will go on sale this week on Friday 30 April. The contemporary retelling of this beloved story will have its Australian Premiere in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre from 16 November.

Continuing their collaboration of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musicals, most recently The King and I, Opera Australia and The Gordon Frost Organisation are uniting again to produce the Tony Award-winning Broadway production for the first time in Australia, with support from the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre will kick of its 2021 Season in January with the ultimate who dunnit? – Clue: On Stage.  The theatre began working with Broadway Licensing, the show’s licensing agent in New York, nearly two years ago to obtain the rights to produce a production of the new play based on the hilarious ‘80s motion picture.

R&H Movie Night will continue on Friday, July 24 with a live viewing party of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, the classic 1957 film starring Academy, Emmy and Grammy Award-winner Julie Andrews. 

Earlier this year, it was announced that a new kind of princess is officially coming back to the stage.  Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical Cinderella will premiere at The Gillian Lynne Theatre in London next year, putting an all new spin on a beloved classic.
