THE BLACK BOX Cabaret will present a special cabaret revue spotlighting the talents of promising young singers on Saturday, November 16 at 7:30 pm. Rising Stars Cabaret is presented in an intimate, nightclub atmosphere with professional accompaniment. Former rising stars have gone on to top musical theatre college programs and sung at New York City cabaret venues such as Broadway Sessions at the Laurie Beechman Theater.

This past Thursday at Broadway Sessions was exceptionally a?oeWickeda?? at the 5th Annual Elphaball! We added some Glinda's into the mix this year an had an absolute blast. Our iconic lineup included Eden Espinosa, Saycon Sengbloh, Cassie Okenka, Kristy Cates, and Maddy Trumble with fierce special guests; Ally Ivey, Elizabeth McMonagle, Imari Hardon and Karine Hannah. We had such a blast celebrating the past, present, & future of a show that is so near and dear to us and theatre fans everywhere!

Acclaimed singer and voice teacher Corinna Sowers Adler returned to The Laurie Beechman Theatre with a new show titled SECOND STORIES and fans old and new have been delighting in her musical storytelling.

After years of playing well with others - whether singing backup for friends' shows, or crooning alongside a cast of puppet characters - Jennifer Barnhart finally steps into the spotlight in her first solo cabaret, fittingly titled, 'It's About Time!' Alan Muraoka directs an evening of stories, silliness and song as Jennifer shares the journey that led her to two of the most famous streets in the world: Broadway and Sesame Street.

Jackie Draper and Repeal the Blues returned to the Laurie Beechman Theatre last night. Draper performed in song and dance, in English and French, to banish the blues. Composers and lyricists presented include Charles Aznavour, Irving Berlin, Cy Coleman, Dietz & Schwartz, the Gershwins, Jerome Kern, Michele Legrand, Lieber & Stoller, Johnny Mandel and many more.

Travis Moser, a staple of the New York City cabaret scene, has released a new, bourbon infused version of the holiday classic, 'The Christmas Song.'

After two acclaimed performances this past June at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Dawn Derowbrings back The House That Built Me to The Laurie Beechman Theatre on Sunday, October27th at 1:00 pm and Thursday, November 14that 7:00 pm. Directed by multiple MAC Award- winning director Jeff Harnar, the show features musical direction by Matt Baker with Peter Calo on guitar and Steve Doyle on bass.

Things got wonderfully wild at Broadway Sessions recently as we welcomed cast members form Beetlejuice! Cast members Kelvin Moon Loh, Natalie Charles Ellis, Abe Goldfarb, Kim Sava, Elliot Mattox, Tessa Alves, and wardrobe staffer Travis Ryder sang and played games and brought the NetherWorld to the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Popular cabaret couple Paul and Rochelle Chamlin present The Marvelous Mr. Mercer, featuring songs by the prolific lyricist, composer, and singer Johnny Mercer. Directed by MAC award-winner Teresa Fischer with Tom Hubbard on bass and Daniel Glass on percussion.

The Broadway Artists Connection (BAC) presents the 2019 Cabaret Benefit for the Matsiko World Orphan Choir hosted by Broadway's Bronson Norris Murphy (PHANTOM OF THE OPERA) on Monday, October 28th at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:00pm).

The magnificent Nancy McGraw returns to the cabaret stage and, with Mark Nadler, presents a picture perfect night of cabaret.

Celebrating two years of performances highlighting the talents of transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming performers, New York City's Trans Voices Cabaret returns to The Duplex on Saturday, November 9th at 9:30pm. The show is directed by TVC creator Donnie Cianciotto, with Musical Direction by Anessa Marie. Cianciotto will also serve as the evening's emcee.

Nancy McGraw brought her Johnny Mercer show, In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening to the Laurie Beechman Theatre last night with Director/Music Director Mark Nadler. Ms McGraw presented Mercer's lyrics through the lens of their shared Southern heritage, based on a Mercer quote: 'If you want to ask what makes me tick, I would say that it is that I am from Savannah.'

Jackie Draper and her musicians, along with her dance partner, will blast the blues with songs in English and French, on Thursday, October 24 at 7 PM at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Draper's musical team is Music Director Gregory Toroian at the piano, Robbyn Tongue on woodwinds and Frank Wagner on bass, with guest artist/dancer Milo Saidl. Kimberly Vaughn directs.

Avery Sommers has had a fantastic career so far, appearing on Broadway in Ain't Misbehavin', Show Boat, Chicago, and Platinum. Now, the versatile performer makes her New York solo debut in an extraordinary collection from the Great American Songbook.
