Buffalo Theatre Ensemble, the professional Equity theater company in residence at the McAninch Arts Center, has announced its 2023-2024 three-play season.

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble (BTE), the professional Equity company in residence at the McAninch Arts Center (MAC), continues its 2022-2023 season with Alan Ayckbourn's “Season's Greetings,” directed by Connie Canaday Howard*+.

The season will open with Bruce Norris’ Tony, Olivier and Pulitzer Prize-winning “Clybourne Park,” directed by Kurt Naebig (Sept. 8 – Oct. 9).  It will be followed by Alan Ayckbourn’s feisty holiday comedy, “Season’s Greetings,” directed by Connie Canaday Howard (Nov. 17 – Dec. 18). With a nod to the Cleve Carney Museum of Art/MAC summer 2023 exhibition “Warhol,” BTE will complete the season with Vince Melocchi’s fictional play “Andy Warhol’s Tomato” directed by Steve Scott (Feb. 2 – March 5).

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble (BTE), the professional Equity company in residence at the McAninch Arts Center (MAC), wraps up the 2021-2022 Season with “Naperville,” written by Mat Smart and directed by BTE Member Kurt Naebig. New York Theatre Review calls it a “valentine to the heart and soul of the American suburbs.” There will be a Preview performance 8 p.m., Thursday, April 28. Press opening is 8 p.m., Friday, April 29. Performances run through May 29.  

Cast and crew have been announced for Citadel Theatre Company's OUTSIDE MULLINGAR, by John Patrick Shanley, who won an Oscar Award for MOONSTRUCK and a Tony Award as well as the Pulitzer Prize for DOUBT.

The season continues with Mat Smart's “Naperville” directed by Naebig (Jan. 27-Feb. 27), and Richard Bean's “One Man Two Guvnors” an English adaptation of “The Servant of Two Masters (Italian: Il servitore di due padroni)” directed by Canaday Howard (April 28-May 29).

There will be a preview Thursday, Jan. 31. Press opening is Friday, Feb. 1.

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble (BTE) rounds out its 2016-2017 'Year of the Phoenix' Season in the McAninch Arts Center's intimate Playhouse Theatre with Alan Ayckbourn's 'Improbable Fiction,' directed by BTE ensemble member, Bryan Burke,* May 4-June 4. There will be a preview performance on Thursday, May 4 at 8 p.m.; press opening is Friday, May 5 at 8 p.m. Performances run through Sunday, June 4.

After a three-year hiatus Buffalo Theatre Ensemble (BTE) opens its 2016-2017 "Year of the Phoenix" Season in the McAninch Arts Center's intimate Playhouse Theatre with Marc Camoletti's "Don't Dress for Dinner," directed by BTE Ensemble member Kurt Naebig,* Sept. 8 - Oct. 9. This production marks the return of the professional Equity company as the MAC's resident theater company. There will be a preview performance on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m.; press opening is Friday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. Performances run through Sunday, Oct. 9.

As the grand finale to their spectacular 25th Anniversary 2015 Season, Theatre at the Center presents the beloved holiday classic, A Christmas Story, running November 19 through December 27, with a press opening on Sunday, November 22 at 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana. Based on the award-winning film, the play by Phil Grecian tells the story of Ralphie Parker, who longs for a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. The source material for the film was the warm and hilarious story collection In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash by local Hammond, Indiana native Jean Shepherd. The holiday classic will be directed by Jeff Award-winner Linda Fortunato (Monty Python's Spamalot, A Christmas Carol, 42nd Street at Theatre at the Center).

Provision Theater Company's Theater for Young Audiences will present the adaptation of the literary classic Anne of Green Gables. The 70-minute play runs now through August 2 with performances on Saturdays at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. at Provision Theater, 1001 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608.
