Arthur Miller's THE CRUCIBLE is, famously, the play about the 1692 Salem witch trials that is not at all about the Salem witch trials. It's about Joseph McCarthy's communist witch hunts of the 1950's. It's about the black list and repression and hysteria and even fake news and Donald J. Trump. It is, in essence, timeless, as relevant today as when it premiered 66 years ago. And in Jayce T. Tromsness' searing new production now playing at the Warehouse Theatre in Greenville, SC, that contemporary relevance literally bursts through the seams.
BroadwayWorld has a first look at Serenbe's production of the Tony-winning rock musical in a brand new, larger than life production. During Season Four, Hair was a game-changing show for Serenbe Playhouse, and there is no better time to revive it than in 2019 with the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock!
On Friday, March 8, the seventh annual One Night for One Drop event at the "O" Theatre, presented by MGM Resorts International and COLGATE, drew a star-studded crowd in support of the one-night-only soiree benefiting the One Drop Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to safe water and sanitation around the globe. Imagined by Cirque du Soleil, One Night for One Drop mesmerized the sold-out audience with an emotional performance that took the spectators on an empathetic journey, drawing inspiration from human connection, friendship, beauty, nature, love and loss, in an aquatic ambiance.
