The first national touring production of Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations will officially launch at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, in July 2020, before the tour goes on to play more than 50 cities coast-to-coast for more than 100 touring weeks, including a homecoming to The Temptations' roots in Detroit, and a triumphant return to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations will make its national late-night television debut on NBC's 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' on Thursday, March 21st. This televised performance will tape mere moments before the new Broadway musical's Opening Night performance is scheduled to begin.

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of the new musical Ain't Too Proud The Life and Times of The Temptations will be released by UMe this spring. The album, which was recorded earlier this year, is available for pre-orders beginning today, and will be released on March 21 on physical CDs, sold exclusively at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street), with the digital album available on March 22. The CD will be available in wide release on April 19, and a double-LP vinyl will be available on June 7.

The event is scheduled at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (515 Malcolm X Blvd) on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. Four-time Tony Award-winning producer Ron Simons of SimonSays Entertainment (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Porgy & Bess, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Jitney) will host the program whose purpose is to bring attention to the unprecedented number of plays by black playwrights being produced on Broadway and Off-Broadway this season.

Cast of AINT TOO PROUD is given a Detroit historic tour by their award winning playwright and Detroit Native Dominique Morisseau. Aint Too Proud is a story rooted in the textures of Detroit's rich history, so playwright Dominique Morisseau saw it important that cast members explored the city that the story speaks of. Cast members were given a passionate and eyeopening tour, of one of the countries richest historical cities. They even stopped to sing on the street corners where legendary Motown artist sang.

Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations plays a strictly limited pre-Broadway engagement beginning tonight, October 11 - November 17 at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre following this summer's highly acclaimed engagements at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. and the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Media night in Toronto is Tuesday October 16, 2018.

Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations has broken the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre records for the highest grossing pre-Broadway engagement with a gross of $5,992,378.50, and for highest attendance with 82,792 people having seen the show in Los Angeles.
