Today (April 29) in live streaming: Spotlight on Plays spotlights The Baltimore Waltz, Stars in the House tribute Rebecca Luker, and more!

PRO kicks off the Vogel Summer Concert Series which APAC is presenting on Wednesday nights throughout the summer in Asbury Park.

On April 29, Broadway stars will unite to raise funds to elect Eliza Orlins, the only public defender running in the Manhattan District Attorney race. The evening will be presented by The Hysterical Womxn's Society, Tom D’Angora and Michael D’Angora.

In FUNNY HOW IT HAPPENS, Jarrod and Kelli skillfully selected the songs they performed to incorporate songs meaningful to their relationship, songs significant to their careers, and songs that have traditionally been audience favorites.  Every song was an excellent choice, whether they performed them solo or as a duet.  Their harmony and stage chemistry resonate the deep connection of two performers who are deeply in love with each other and want to communicate that love to their audiences.  I enjoyed every song whether it was a song I was familiar with or not.  Among the songs were “Close to You,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” “Be My Baby,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Cabaret,” “I Got You, Babe,”  “New York State of Mind,” and even a lounge act arrangement of “You Give Love a Bad Name.”  The instrumentation, during this time of social distancing, was a solo piano, brilliantly played by Adam Ben David.   

On January 19, I had the pleasure of speaking on the phone with a very friendly, personable, down to Earth, and classy Broadway power couple.   Jarrod Spector (“Jersey Boys,” “Beautiful: the Carole King musical,' “The Cher Show”) and his wife Kelli Barrett (“Doctor Zhivago,” “Baby, It’s You,” “Wicked,” “The Royal Family”) spoke with me about their show FUNNY HOW IT HAPPENS, which they are scheduled to perform at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, CT on St. Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2021, at 4:00 PM and again at 8:00 PM.  This show includes comedy and musical numbers that reflect true stories about Jarrod and Kelli’s amazing journey towards their marriage and other shared experiences in their lives as a married couple.   

Even during these unprecedented times we are making Valentine's Day special for couples! On Sunday, February 14th The Ridgefield Playhouse will present a socially distanced, limited capacity performance with one of Broadway's most talented power couples, Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector (Jersey Boys, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Cher Show) and Kelli Barrett (Broadway's Doctor Zhivago, Wicked, Baby It's You, FX's Fosse/Verdon).

Since 1978, West Bank Cafe has been one of the epicenters of New York City’s theatre community, and due to the pandemic, it is on the verge of permanently closing. Adelphi University, RJ Productions and Spot-On Entertainment are collaborating on a new concert series streaming live this November and December. 'Live from Adelphi Concert Series' will bring Broadway and cabaret stars together online for several concerts performed at Adelphi's Performing Arts Center (PAC) on Sunday afternoons at 5 p.m. Eastern.

Quarantunes, a series of invite-only, exclusive Zoom concerts hosted by WME Partner Richard Weitz and his daughter Demi Weitz, raised a record-shattering $1,238,273 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS during its most recent edition on October 18, 2020. This is the first time the stream passed the $1 million fundraising mark in one evening.

In honor and celebration of Nick's memory, over 150 of his friends, colleagues, and family from all over the world came together to sing the song that will keep Nick in our hearts forever 'One of the Great Ones' from A Bronx Tale. The resulting video was featured during the streaming of the memorial.

Today's video will feature Broadway performer Syndee Winters (Hamilton, The Lion King) performing a contemporary take on a?oeWhere or Whena?? from the 1937 Rodgers & Hart musical Babes in Arms.

The next video in the YouTube series R&H Goes Live!, a spinoff of their existing R&H Goes Pop! video series, will feature Austin Scott (Girl From the North Country, Hamilton) and Alexa Cepeda performing a playful, contemporary take on a?oeMy Favorite Thingsa?? from The Sound of Music.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that Richard Kind will host this year's 29th Annual Summer Gala, A Starry Night, which will be streamed online on baystreet.org and other live stream platforms on Wednesday, July 22, at 8 p.m., with a red carpet preshow beginning at 7:30 p.m.
