WAITRESS Cast Album Will Arrive on June 10; Cast Hits the Recording Studio in May!

In the lead-up to the April 24th Broadway opening of Waitress at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, DMI Soundtracks is proud to announce the release of a forthcoming original cast album for the production, with the cast and band hitting the studio in early May.  The album will be distributed by Warner-Elektra-Atlantic Corporation.

The Theater People Podcast Welcomes ON YOUR FEET's Andrea Burns in New Episode

On Monday, April 4, the Theater People podcast welcomes ON YOUR FEET star Andrea Burns. Burns made her professional New York debut in Jason Robert Brown's groundbreaking 1995 musical SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD. She then made her Broadway debut in 1996 as a replacement in the role of Belle in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and went on to co-star in the Broadway productions of THE FULL MONTY and THE RITZ.

The gala featured show-stopping performances by Emmy Award nominee Tituss Burgess; Tony Award winners Lea Salonga and Linda Lavin; Tony Award nominee Keala Settle; and stage and screen stars Aaron Tveit, Beth Behrs, Cynthia Erivo, Ana Villafañe, and Shanice Williams. Just last night, MCC Theater's Miscast gala, an annual highlight of the New York theater season, honored Oscar winning star of stage and screen and MCC alum Marisa Tomei. In a surprise move, Tina Fey rose up from her seat in the audience at the Hammerstein Ballroom and joined Tituss Burgess onstage for a performance of the song 'You're Nothing Without Me' from CITY OF ANGELS. The Theater People Podcast Welcomes Emmy-Nominated Choreographer Spencer Liff

On Monday, April 4th, the Theater People podcast welcomes Emmy nominated choreographer Spencer Liff. As a performer, Liff made his Broadway debut at age 11 in the musical BIG. He went on to appear in THE WEDDING SINGER, CRY BABY, EQUUS, and  9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL, taking on more and more responsibility along the way. He was the Associate Choreographer and Dance Captain for CRY BABY, and was the Dance Captain on EQUUS. 

Twitter Watch: Sara Bareilles Performs Part of Your World, Cut Song, and More at WAITRESS

Audiences at tonight's preview of WAITRESS got to see a very special performance when part of the set for the diner stopped working. While the show was paused so that the crew could make the necessary adjustments - the show's Grammy nominated composer/lyricist Sara Bareilles got on stage to sing a cut song from the show as well as 'Part of Your World' - a Disney classic by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.
