Hackney Empire has released the first rehearsal images from its 2025 pantomime, Cinderella, directed by Clive Rowe. Check out the photos and learn more here!

Following the success of 2024's pantomime, Dick Whittington and his Cat, Hackney Empire has announced the initial casting for the 2025 pantomime Cinderella.

For its 25th pantomime, the Hackney Empire is putting on Dick Whittington and His Cat, directed by and starring Clive Row, who has been the resident Dame of the Hackney Empire for years. This particular production of Dick Whittington has been written by Will Brenton with original music and songs by Steve Edis and stars Kandaka Moore as the titular Whittington and Kat B as Tommy the Cat.

Full casting has been announced for Aladdin, the 24th annual pantomime running at Hackney Empire from Saturday 18 November to Sunday 31 December, with a press performance at 7pm on Thursday 30 November. Check out all new photos of the cast here!

The Mother of all pantomimes is back in Hackney this festive season, starring Clive Rowe as Mother Goose.

Hackney Empire has announced the cast and creative team for their Christmas 2022 pantomime, Mother Goose, which opens on 19th November, running until 31st December.

Production images have been released for Jack and the Beanstalk at Hackney Empire starring Olivier award-winner Clive Rowe as Dame Daisy Trot. Clive also co-directs this production alongside fellow Hackney panto veteran Tony Whittle, who plays Councillor Higginbottom.

They join the previously announced Kat B as Simple Simon, Zoë Curlett as Fenella Fleshcreep, Julie Jupp as Fairy Fusia, Ellie Ruiz Rodriguez as Jill Higginbottom, Rochelle Sherona as Jack Trot, Tony Whittle as Councillor Higginbottom, and Clive Rowe as Dame Daisy Trott. The production will be choreographed by Ruthie Stephens.

Full principal casting includes the legendary Kat B as Simple Simon, Zoe Curlett as Fenella Fleshcreep, Julie Jupp as Fairy Fusia, Ellie Ruiz Rodriguez as Jill Higginbottom, Rochelle Sherona as Jack Trot, Tony Whittle as Councillor Higginbottom and Clive Rowe as Dame Daisy Trott.  

For the first time, Olivier-Award winner Clive Rowe and Hackney panto veteran Tony Whittle will co-direct and star in Hackney Empire’s 2021 pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk which will run from 20 November to 2 January 2022.

Hackney Empire today releases production images of its sparkling new pantomime production Dick Whittington and his Cat which runs at the East End venue until 5 January 2020, with press night taking place this evening.

Hackney Empire plans to combine its commitment to community and championing of young people with a programme that revives a variety programme for a modern-day audience and celebrates all genres. Since Artistic Director Yamin Choudury and Executive Director Jo Hemmant were appointed in 2018, the theatre has seen an average of 83% new bookers for many productions - a huge achievement for a 1000+ seater theatre in London.
