Taylor Louderman and the Write Out Loud team -- Ben Rauhala, Hannah Kloepfer, Sarah Glugatch, Josh Collopy-- have teamed up for the third annual Write Out Loud songwriting contest, a celebration of new musical theatre writers.

New York Theatre Barn will host a free live stream of its New Works Series on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at 7PM EDT, featuring excerpts from the new musicals Tyrants and Songs for Slutty Girls. The 45-minute presentation will also feature a conversation with the writers and creative team of the new musicals.

Bonnie Comley, Founder of BroadwayHD, was the guest speaker at MAESTRA's May seminar at SongSpace. Composer/lyricist and music director Georgia Stitt founded the MAESTRA organization in 2017 to give support, visibility, and community to the women who make the music in the musical theater industry. The MAESTRA membership is made up of female-identifying, non-binary, and gender non-conforming composers, music directors, orchestrators, arrangers, copyists, rehearsal pianists and other musicians who are underrepresented minorities in musical theater. Songwriter and composer, Kathy Sommer, moderated the seminar.

Shaunice Alexander, who has just joined the lineup, is a singer, actor, dancer and native New Yorker who was most recently the Sarah / Sarah's Friend cover in Park Playhouse's production of production of Ragtime.
