Sedona International Film Festival Announces 25th Anniversary Lineup

 More than 165 films – from Oscar-nominated documentaries to narrative features, narrative short films, documentary short films and animated shorts – will highlight the 25thanniversary Sedona International Film Festival, Feb. 23-March 3.

Chicago's Harris Theater Presents Akram Khan's GISELLE,

The Joan W. and Irving B. Harris Theater for Music and Dance will present the exclusive U.S. presentation of Akram Khan's Giselle, English National Ballet's 2017 Olivier Award winner, running  for four performances, February 28 - March 2, 2019 at the Harris Theater in Chicago.

On Thursday, December 13th, Frank 'Fraver' Verlizzo will discuss his 5 decades as Broadway's award-winning theatrical poster designer with Broadway World's Richard Ridge in the Bruno Walter auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Verlizzo, known as 'FRAVER,' is the author of the best-selling FRAVER BY DESIGN: Five Decades of Theatre Post Art from Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Beyond which was published in May by Schiffer Publishing. The book includes over 250 of his theatre poster designs from Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional and international productions. The Lincoln Center Library event begins at 6 pm and admission is free.

Akram Khan Company Announce The World Premiere Of OUTWITTING THE DEVIL

Akram Khan Company have today announced a brand-new production from the multi award-winning choreographer and dancer Akram Khan. Outwitting the Devil will premiere in Stuttgart in July 2019. The announcement comes six weeks ahead of Until the Lions' homecoming to the Roundhouse in London, Khan's first ever work in the round and one of his most haunting, which he will dance for the last ever time. Both pieces of work will explore old myth and reinterpret them in a contemporary context, in a way that Khan has become renowned for in his career over the last two decades. Brand new images for Until the Lions have also been released today. Outwitting the Devil will premiere at COLOURS International Dance Festival, Stuttgart, running 13-14 July. Until the Lions at the Roundhouse runs from 11 - 17 January 2019. Tickets for Until the Lions are now on sale.

DanceHouse Invites Audiences Into a Fantastical World of Whimsy in the Vancouver Premiere of Akram Khan Company's 'Chotto Desh'

DanceHouse, in co-presentation with SFU Woodward's Cultural Programs and Theatre la Seizieme, is delighted to announce the anticipated Vancouver premiere of Akram Khan Company's award-winning solo, Chotto Desh - loosely based on Khan's childhood raised under the stern eye of his authoritarian father, November 21-24, 2018 at 8pm at the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts. Performances will be held in French on November 22 at 8pm and with ASL Interpretation on November 24 at 2pm. Revered UK choreographer Akram Khan and acclaimed children's theatre Director Sue Buckmaster fuse kathak, storytelling, mime, and interactive animation, to create a bewitching tale of a young man's dreams and memories growing up in Britain and Bangladesh. This charming work for adults and children ages seven and up, will address the complex relationship between parent and child, as well as timely concepts of home, identity, and belonging in our multicultural world.

Akram Khan's UNTIL THE LIONS Returns To The Roundhouse

The Roundhouse, Akram Khan Company and Sadler's Wells have today announced that the multi award-winning choreographer and dancer Akram Khan's critically acclaimed Until the Lions will return to the venue where it received its world premiere - London's Roundhouse - for just six performances in January 2019, with Khan dancing the role of Bheeshma for the final time. Created for the uniquely atmospheric 360° setting of the Roundhouse in January 2016, the inspiration for the piece which Khan choreographed and performs in is taken from poet Karthika Nair's book Until The Lions: Echoes from the Mahabharata, an original reworking of the ancient Sanskrit epic. One of Khan's most thrilling and haunting works, performed in one of London's most distinctive spaces, Until the Lions runs from 11 - 17 January 2019. Tickets will go on sale to the public on 1st October 2018.

Film Society of Lincoln Center Announce Spring 2018 Releases

The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced its lineup of new releases for the 2018 spring season, featuring Arnaud Desplechin's Ismael's Ghosts, Lucrecia Martel's Zama, Claire Denis's Let the Sunshine In, and an exclusive run of Hong Sang-soo's The Day After, all NYFF55 selections; plus Sophie Fiennes's intimate documentary Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami and Carla Simón's Summer 1993, winner of the Best First Feature Award at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival. Marvel's Most Nefarious Villain Finds a New Host in FX's LEGION

Starring in the highly anticipated second season of the hit FX comic book drama series 'Legion' as Ahmal Farouk, aka the Shadow King, HOMELAND actor Navid Negahban joins the cast for the new season as the mysterious 'villain with a thousand faces,' one of the more elaborate Marvel mutants, ahead of the season 2 premiere on April 3rd at 10:00pm ET/PT.

Artist With Down Syndrome, Maryam Alakbarli, Debuts Works At AQUA Art Miami

Maryam Alakbarli, a talented French painter with Down syndrome, will make her AQUA Art Miami debut during this year's Miami Art Week. The Paris-based artist's work, which include drawings, acrylics and oil on canvas, will be featured at the BP Project gallery booth # at AQUA Art Miami, a sister fair of Art Miami, at the AQUA Hotel in Miami Beach. A VIP Preview will be held on Wednesday, December 6 before the fair opens its doors to the public December 7-10.
