Virginia-based Americana pioneers The Steel Wheels have released new album Sideways via the band's own Big Ring Records. Produced by Sam Kassirer (Lake Street Dive, Langhorne Slim, Josh Ritter), Sideways is at once a meditation on the nonlinear nature of personal growth and a joyous celebration of life.

The lineup includes Zach Bryan and Cody Jinks on Saturday, and Tyler Childers and My Morning Jacket on Sunday, along with Matchbox Twenty, The National, Whiskey Myers, Black Pumas, The War On Drugs, The Beach Boys, Mt. Joy, Fleet Foxes, Young the Giant, Maren Morris, The Head and the Heart, Melissa Etheridge, Teddy Swims, and many more.

Leadbetter has been creating and performing her own music for a decade. She studied at Berklee College of Music before earning a bachelor's degree in anthropology and music from the University of Vermont. Citing influences from Anaïs Mitchell and Josh Ritter to Lana Del Ray and Phoebe Bridgers, she’s creating a sound that’s already drawing notice.

The three-day 2023 XPoNential Music Festival presented by Subaru, produced by Philadelphia public radio station WXPN in partnership with the Camden County Board of Commissioners, will feature 24 artists performing on two stages from Friday, Sept. 22 through Sunday, Sept. 24.

Club Passim’s annual Campfire Festival returns for its 25th year with 67 artists on the lineup. A festival set up to highlight Boston’s extensive folk music scene, the lineup is loaded with familiar acts like Rose Polenzani, Liv Greene, Hank Wonder and rising stars like junior rail transit, Genesis Fermin and Nicolas Emden.

Jenny Owen Youngs releases her second single “Knife Went In” from her forthcoming highly-anticipated fourth studio album Avalanche. “Knife Went In” is an exploration of vulnerability in early stages of relationships and finding common ground in shared wounds, with Youngs’ gentle voice gliding smoothly over looping nylon-stringed guitar.

Alongside the album announcement,  Youngs has released the title track “Avalanche” with a stunning visualizer she curated of found archival footage of, fittingly, avalanches. Additionally, she released a live performance video of “Avalanche” featuring Jenny alongside Peter Silberman of The Antlers. Plus, check out tour dates!

Gregory Alan Isakov will continue his headline tour through this fall with newly confirmed shows at Chicago’s Chicago Theatre, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium (two nights), Atlanta’s Tabernacle (two nights), Washington DC’s The Anthem, Philadelphia’s Franklin Music Hall, Boston’s Roadrunner (two nights) and New York’s Beacon Theatre.

Charley Crockett, The Tallest Man on Earth, Josh Ritter and The Royal City Band, Tank and the Bangas, Larkin Poe, and The Secret Sisters will take the stage at the 33rd annual celebration of great songs which takes place August 11-13 in beautiful Lyons, CO, at the Planet Bluegrass Ranch along the St. Vrain River.

Doug Levitt has shared his new single “Highway Signs,” the next offering from his upcoming debut album Edge of Everywhere. Produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Trina Shoemaker (Brandi Carlile, Josh Ritter, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris), Edge of Everywhere at its core is about empathy and connection, colored by touching vignettes of the human condition.

Music Director Xian Zhang leads the New Jersey Symphony and violinist Hilary Hahn in the Sibelius Violin Concerto on a January 28–29 program featuring Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's Ballade in A Minor and Sergei Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5.
