Due to popular demand, The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, in association with Cecilia Lin and Hu Guo, has announced a two-week extension of the New York premiere of the musical Desperate Measures, with book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina) and music by David Friedman (Scandalous).

The York Theatre Company production of Desperate Measures, the knee-slappin' new musical with a nod to Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, with book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina) and music by David Friedman (Scandalous), presented in association with Cecilia Lin and Hu Guo, is now in performance through Sunday, October 15, 2017 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Manhattan Musical Theatre Lab, a developmental organization founded 17 years ago by the late Director and Choreographer Bick Goss, will present the new musical Brooklyn Bridge at the St. Luke's Theatre on October 24 at 6:30 pm (St. Luke's is at 308 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). With a book and lyrics by Ray Roderick, music by Joseph Baker, and musical direction by Laura Bergquist, Brooklyn Bridge is an innovative musical inspired by the extraordinary life of Emily Roebling, wife of Brooklyn Bridge Chief Engineer Washington Roebling.

Young Emory is an effeminate 11-year-old boy who lives on a farm with his chain smoking Nanna and his only friend, a depressed chicken about to be processed in Milk Milk Lemonade, a new show described as 'a bitterly funny exploration of gender, sexuality, life, death and the human body,' opening tonight, September 19, at the PIT Loft Theatre, 154 West 29th Street.
