Accent Dance NYC Announces An Evening of Cultural Convergence

Accent Dance NYC, a collaborative of international artists dedicated to exploring the artistic, cultural, and humanistic connections among people through diverse dance styles, presents An Evening of Cultural Convergence at the Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York City on April 9, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. An evening program showcasing the versatile talents of the Accent Dance NYC ensemble while building cultural bridges among collaborators through movement and music, audiences will enjoy works exploring the artistic, cultural, and humanistic connections among people from diverse backgrounds, purposefully juxtaposing elements of ballet, contemporary dance, salsa, jazz music, tango, hip hop, tap, and more.

Pennsylvania Ballet Has Announced 2020-2021 Season MAGIC OF STORIES

Today Pennsylvania Ballet announced a dynamic new season, 'Magic of Stories,' complete with fairytale full length stories, world premieres at the Perelman Theater from choreographers with long-time ties to the company and a sparkling tribute to George Balanchine. Pennsylvania Ballet will also highlight local organizations for each production, including Career Wardrobe and the Audubon Society.

San Francisco Ballet Will Open 2020 Repertory Season With SPELLBOUND

San Francisco Ballet and Artistic Director & Principal Choreographer Helgi Tomasson will launch the 2020 Repertory Season with SPELLBOUND: SF Ballet's Opening Night Gala on Thursday, January 16, 2020. One of the Bay Area's most anticipated annual events, the Gala, this year chaired by Patricia Dale Roberts, begins with a cocktail reception and black-tie fundraising dinner at San Francisco City Hall at 5 pm. The evening's performance begins at 8 pm and will feature twelve pieces, including three world premieres by current and former members of SF Ballet's Company: Val Caniparoli, Choreographer in Residence Yuri Possokhov, and Myles Thatcher.

Twenty-five years ago in Grand Rapids, the Van Andel Arena still was on the drawing board. Meijer Gardens had opened just three months earlier, but it would be many years before an outdoor amphitheater would be built as a venue for summer concerts.   At Cannonsburg Ski Area, on a steamy evening in mid-July, the Grand Rapids Symphony launched a brand new, outdoor concert experience called the Picnic Pops.   This season The Grand Rapids Symphony celebrates its 25th Anniversary of its D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops with a series of three shows that are all time favorites with Picnic Pops audiences plus a special event capping off four weeks of concerts at Cannonsburg.
