Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (OGCMA) presents classical music at the Jersey Shore over Independence Day weekend!

The Mercer County Symphonic Band will present its annual Spring Concert on Wednesday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m. at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) Kelsey Theatre. The theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Admission is free.

Back in 1986, The Actors' Gang presented VIOLENCE: THE MISADVENTURES OF SPIKE SPANGLE, FARMER, originally written and directed by the group's Artistic Director Tim Robbins, which offered a no-holds barred satire of militarism and media manipulation. An updated version written by Robbins and Adam Simon, directed by Bob Turton, has re-invaded The Actors' Gang through June 22, 2019 in Culver City. The political and social satire tells the story of Spike Spangle, a down on his luck farmer who gets sucked into a whirlwind of celebrity and patriotism, fueled by his need for more money. During his journey, Spike joins Superman on billionaire Max Enormous' Celebrity Space Shuttle, and a nefarious plot twist leads to the deification of Spike Spangle as an American hero.

In the spirit of the Memorial Day holiday, the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (OGCMA) will kick off its 150th summer season with a FREE concert by the ATLANTIC WIND ENSEMBLE on Saturday, May 25, 2019. It's a new season full of new experiences at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. The 2019 20 seaon is jam-packed with legends of world music, acclaimed dance companies, renowned classical musicians, returning favorites and more.

Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Orchestra opened the 134th Spring Pops season with a 50th anniversary tribute to the watershed events of the summer of 1969, two stunning short films, a homegrown astronaut, and a celestial Broadway legend. Commencing with the 'Opening Fanfare' from Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra (the theme used in '2001: A Space Odyssey'), and concluding with the Pops' signature song, John Philip Sousa's 'The Stars and Stripes Forever,' the two selections bookended the program that took us to the moon, to the past, and to the Great White Way.

'The President's Own' United States Marine Band in Partnership with the All-Star Orchestra took home an Emmy Award Saturday at the 62nd Annual New York Emmy Awards, which took place at the Marriott Marquis Broadway Ballroom in New York City.

This season, Broadway welcomes a new production of William Shakespeare's King Lear, starring two-time Academy Award winner, two-time Emmy Award winner, and 2018 Tony Award winner Glenda Jackson.

Indie Pop Artist Kris Kelly Releases 'Birthplace'

In the early 1930's, The Lambs created 2-reel comedy short films with Columbia Pictures. These shorts were created as a means to raise fund for the Club during the Great Depression. Most of these films have never been seen in almost a century. The films offer a rare historical look at The Lambs, its famous members and activities. The presentation included: Shave it with Music (1932), The Curse of the Broken Heart (1933), Poor Fish (1933) and Hear'em and Weep (1931).

Through the generosity of Donna MacMillan, the McCallum Theatre presents Keyboard Conversations® with Jeffrey Siegel on Monday, March 25, at 7:00pm. This evening's program, "Rags to Riches" features "Rialto Ripples," "Fascinatin' Rhythms," and "I Got Rhythm" (George Gershwin); "Wall Street Rag" (Scott Joplin); "Invitation to the Dance, Op. 65" (Carol Maria von Weber); "Polka in G Minor" (Bedrich Smetana); "Polka from The Age of Gold" (Dmitri Shostakovich); "Finale of Piano Sonata No. 1" (Alberto Ginastera); "Circus Polka" (Igor Stravinsky); "Evening in Granada" (Claude Debussy); and "Stars and Stripes Forever" (John Philip Sousa).

It's time to strike up the band for the 7th annual concert by the McCallum Theatre Concert Band, with conductor and McCallum Theatre President & CEO Mitch Gershenfeld, on Sunday, March 24, at 3:00pm. Highlights of this year's concert will be a performance of the beloved "Carnival of the Animals" by Saint-Saens featuring pianist Jeffrey Siegel and a new text written and performed by David Gonzalez, and special guest appearances by Gavin MacLeod (narrator) and former TEN Tenor Chad Hilligus (guest vocalist). And, after the concert, there is free ice cream for everyone!

Grand Rapids Symphony's Fifth Grade Concerts, held each February, typically bring 15,000 to 16,000 elementary school students downtown to DeVos Performance Hall for a live concert with a real symphony orchestra playing music by Bach, Beethoven and others.

The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is thrilled to present the return of the internationally adored Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo for three weeks, December 11-30. A unique collaboration: the All-Star Orchestra's Gerard Schwarz conducts the U.S. Marine Band - America's oldest continually performing musical ensemble - founded by an act of Congress in 1798, and dubbed 'The President's Own' by no less than Thomas Jefferson. Three programs feature the most famous concert band masterpieces, including works by Gustav Holst, Percy Grainger, William Schuman, and of course John Philip Sousa.

California Pops Orchestra, the country's only all-request pops orchestra, announces its 30th performance season. Conductor Kim Venaas and the 70 members of the Orchestra present five fun-loving performances at Cupertino's Flint Center, adding their signature playfulness, audience engagement, and surprise elements to the mix.  The new season runs September 30, 2018 through May 19, 2019.  All performances are held Sundays at 3pm, at Flint Center at De Anza College, 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd in Cupertino.  Season subscriptions ($260-$92) and individual show tickets ($20-$55, standard ticket service fees apply), are available at Ticketmaster.com (https://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/2260227?tm_link=tm_homeA_header_search) or in person at the Flint Center box office.
