Penguin Rep Theatre presents 'Barnside Live @ 5!', an outdoor summer music festival taking place on the lawn adjacent to its historic Stony Point theatre located at 7 Crickettown Road. 

Penguin Rep Theatre today announced that the Stony Point-based professional theatre will present a special online benefit reading of Lucas Hnath's A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2 starring Ann Dowd, Emmy Award-winning actress, and directed by founding artistic director Joe Brancato.

STONY POINT, NY - NOVEMBER 16, 2020 - 'As theatres remain dark, Penguin Rep remains committed to making art and to connecting with our community,' says founding artistic director Joe Brancato. 'As we grapple with a way to tell stories given the continued closure of theatres, we are inspired by other challenging periods in history when Americans were distant but connected, and excited by the idea of working with different medium.'

Tony and Emmy Award-winners Brian Cranston (Breaking Bad, Trumbo) and Tony Shalhoub (Monk, The Band's Visit) are among the stellar performers being brought to you by Penguin Rep Theatre as part of the exciting, innovative Keeping Live Theatre Alive! initiative. 

The New York City premiere of 'The Sabbath Girl,' is now delighting audiences at 59E59 Theaters. This modern romantic comedy is written by Cary Gitter, directed by Joe Brancato, and features a marvelous cast of five.

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is will host the NYC premiere of THE SABBATH GIRL written by Cary Gitter and directed by Joe Brancato. Produced by Penguin Rep, THE SABBATH GIRL begins performances on Tuesday, February 11 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 8. Press opening is Sunday, February 16 at 2:15 pm. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Friday at 7:15 pm; Saturday at 2:15 pm & 7:15 pm; Sunday at 2:15 pm. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Houses on the Moon Theater Company presents THE SANTA CLOSET, written and performed by Jeffrey Solomon and directed by Joe Brancato (Daniel's Husband) and Emily Joy Weiner (The Assignment), now playing a limited holiday engagement through Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Teatro Círculo Theater (64 East 4th Street in the East Village, NYC).

Houses on the Moon Theater Company's production of THE SANTA CLOSET, written and performed by Jeffrey Solomon and directed by Joe Brancato (Daniel's Husband) and Emily Joy Weiner (The Assignment) opened earlier this week at Teatro Círculo Theater (64 East 4th Street in the East Village, NYC).  The limited engagement runs through Sunday, December 22, 2019.

Christmas is fully represented on the stage in the small Teatro Círculo Theater.  All is not quite normal though.  On the left side of the stage there is a decorated tree with presents underneath.  The same thing is duplicated on the right side except this group hangs upside down from the ceiling.  Our world and the legend of Kris Kringle are turned upside down in The Santa Closet.  Claire DeLiso's scenic design beautifully prepares the viewer for this topsy-turvy tale.
