BroadwayHD to Stream Berkeley Rep's SCHOOL GIRLS, OR THE AFRICAN MEAN GIRLS PLAY and CULTURE CLASH

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced that patrons can buy tickets to either Culture Clash (Still) in America or Jocelyn Bioh's School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play online. Through a generous partnership with Actors' Equity Association, Stage Directors & Choreographers Society, United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE, and BroadwayHD, patrons who hold tickets to the canceled productions are able to watch a high definition recording in the comfort of their own homes. Those ticket buyers will receive an email from Berkeley Rep this week with instructions on how to access their productions on BroadwayHD.

Goodman Theatre Suspends Performances Starting Today In an Effort to Help Mitigate Community Spread of COVID-19

In an effort to help mitigate community spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Goodman Theatre is suspending performances starting tomorrow (Friday, March 13) until further notice. This action is consistent with the directive of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. The suspension affects the current production of School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play by Jocelyn Bioh, directed by Lili-Anne Brown, a Chicago premiere that is currently in previews and was slated to open Monday, March 16-as well as all production-related events. Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel, directed by Robert Falls, has been postponed to an April 20 opening.

MCC Theater will soon present the World Premiere of Nollywood Dreams by Jocelyn Bioh (MCC Theater's Burnt Umber Playwright-In-Residence) with direction by Saheem Ali. Cherry Lane Theatre to Present a Workshop Presentation of (THE MAKING OF) HOW TO SAVE THE WORLD IN 90 MINUTES

Cherry Lane Theatre (Angelina Fiordellisi, Executive Director; Seri Lawrence, Artistic Director) has announced a workshop presentation of a new work, The Making Of) How to Save the World in 90 Minutes by writer/composer Shawn Randall, directed by Alfredo Narciso and mentored by Diana Oh ({my lingerie play}). Goodman Theatre Has Announced Casting For SCHOOL GIRLS and AMERICAN MARIACHI

Goodman Theatre has announced casting for two upcoming Chicago premiere productions in its 2019/2020 Season. Jocelyn Bioh's School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play comes to the Goodman following its acclaimed off-Broadway engagement in a new production directed by Lili-Anne Brown (Lottery Day); and American Mariachi, directed by Goodman Resident Artistic Associate Henry Godinez in a co-production with Dallas Theater Center, featuring live mariachi music on stage. School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play appears March 7 - April 12, 2020; tickets ($20-$70) are on sale now. American Mariachi appears April 25 - May 31; tickets ($20-$70) go on sale February 28 at 10am. Both productions appear in the 856-seat Albert Theatre.
