The Public Theater has just announced that in-person standby tickets are back for Shakespeare in the Park starting today, July 20.

BroadwayWorld has learned that the Public Theater has postponed opening night of the return of Shakespeare in the Park. Jacob Ming-Trent, who plays Falstaff in Merry Wives, sustained an injury onstage during a recent performance. Opening night will now be on August 9 to 'support his full recovery.'

Cherry Lane Theatre, the oldest continuously running Off-Broadway theatre in New York City, has a new owner, it has been announced by Angelina Fiordellisi, the theatre’s Executive Director since having acquired the building in 1996.  Cherry Lane is located at 38 Commerce Street in Greenwich Village.

Free Shakespeare in the Park's production of MERRY WIVES at The Delacorte Theater will run through Saturday, September 18, with an official opening on Tuesday, July 27. The play is adapted by Jocelyn Bioh and directed by Saheem Ali.

People ticketed into Full Capacity sections must show proof of full vaccination prior to entering The Delacorte. The theatre will accept all forms that show vaccination i.e. card, photo of card, print out, etc. Physically Distanced sections do not need to show proof or negative testing for entry. 

Artistic Director Ryan Rilette and Managing Director Ed Zakreski have announced the full six-show lineup for Round House Theatre’s 44th Season. Following a historic season of digital performances, Round House will welcome audiences back into its Bethesda theatre for live, in-person productions with a slate of shows designed to transport them around the world.

The Public Theater will begin performances of the 2021 Free Shakespeare in the Park production of MERRY WIVES on Tuesday, July 6 at The Delacorte Theater. The all-Black staging of the delightful comedy will officially open on Tuesday, July 27 and was recently extended by three weeks to now end on Saturday, September 18.

Today, The 24 Hour Plays, creators of The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, The 24 Hour Musicals and the Viral Monologues, announced this year’s company for The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals, which will be held as a virtual program.

Berkeley Rep’s leadership announced today that after being closed for a year and a half, the Tony Award-winning theatre will reopen for live performances on Friday, October 1. The 2021-22 subscription season kicks off with a Berkeley Rep commission, Christina Anderson’s the ripple, the wave that carried me home, directed by Miranda Haymon. 

The Arden Theatre Company has announced their return to in-person performances. The company will reopen on January 13, 2022, with a series of four Mainstage productions and an Arden Children's Theatre production.

The Wallis commemorates Juneteenth with UNMASKED: A THEATRICAL CELEBRATION OF THE BLACK WOMEN’S LIBERATION premiering online June 19, 2021. This collection of short plays by Black female playwrights Dominique Morisseau, Jocelyn Bioh, Ngozi Anyanwu and Stacy Osei-Kuffour will be co-directed by Camille Jenkins and Kimberly Hébert. Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park today announced the restart of its mainstage season for October 2021.
