La MaMa presents PRISONER AT THE WORLD'S END by R.Johns. Prisoner at the World's End is a Kafkaesque imagining arising out of the grim and grotesque circumstances of Julian Assange's imprisonment.

Claudia Forestieri wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer. The cast includes Olivia Goncalves, Diana Maria Riva, Juan Javier Cardenas, Savannah Nicole Ruiz, Noah Rico, Cosette Hauer and Dascha Polanco. Patrick Fabian and Loni Love will guest star.

Whidbey Island Center for the Arts (WICA) presents The Wisdom of Eve, Take3: Skies of Blue, Lollipops and Roses with Whidbey Island Orchestra, and Seattle International Comedy Presents: Auggie Smith.

Josh Berman (“Drop Dead Diva,” “CSI”) executive produces alongside Jennifer Robinson and Chris King of Osprey Productions. Brigitte Munoz-Liebowitz will executive produce and showrun for Bons Mots Emporium. Zoe Saldana, Mariel Saldana and Cisely Saldana are executive producers for Cinestar Pictures. 

For a safe celebration for the community, the Black Theatre Troupe will present a 'musical Christmas card' by broadcasting its beloved holiday show, BLACK NATIVITY during Christmas week.

One of the most renowned musicals of the holiday season, BLACK NATIVITY, returns to Black Theatre Troupe. December 6-22, 2019. This annual, legendary holiday event by Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes, returns again to the BTT stage. Black Nativity is a joyous company of singers, actors, dancers and musicians, delivering a powerful message of joy, hope, victory and liberation. This song-play touches a special chord in the hearts of all at a very special time of the year.

Chess is coming back to the West End for the first time since 1986, opening at the London Coliseum on Thursday 26 April 2018 (Press night on Tuesday 1 May 2018) for a strictly limited 5 week season. The show will come without one of its previously announced cast members, however. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Murray Head has withdrawn from the production. A show representative explained:

Black Theatre Troupe announces its final production of the 2017/18 Season, THREE SISTAHS.  (Please note this is a change in production, NOT a change in schedule.  Three Sistahs replaces Blackberry Daze which was previously announced.)

Race, rage and civil rights are at the heart of this acclaimed, deeply personal story by the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Angels in America, Tony Kushner, in CAROLINE, OR CHANGE, produced by Black Theatre Troupe, September 15-30, 2017, directed by David J. Hemphill, with musical direction by Brenda Hankins and choreographed by Laurie Trygg.

Black Theatre Troupe opens its 2017/18 Season with a powerhouse production of the Tony-nominated musical, Caroline, or Change. Written by Tony Kushner with music by Jeanine Tesori, Caroline, or Change is set during the height of the 1960s Civil Rights era and features an ultra-melodic score, combining doo-wop, Motown, R & B and 60s girl bands, all backed by a 15-piece live orchestra.
