Broadway may be dark for the time being but this week Little Known Facts is bringing you light and joy in the form of Elizabeth Stanley- star of the rock musical sensation, Jagged Little Pill. Elizabeth began her JLP journey with a self-tape in her bedroom. With her camera on a step ladder and the Christmas letter she reads in the play set up on her computer she was able to self tape in her bedroom and send it in to the musicals creative team. That began a journey with this musical that began over 3 years ago. Elizabeth shares stories from first readings to the  rehearsal room to Broadway.

Rehearsals are underway for Roundabout Theatre Company's New York premiere of Birthday Candles by Noah Haidle, directed by Vivienne Benesch. The new play will star Emmy Award winner Debra Messing as 'Ernestine,' Andre Braugher as 'Matt' and Enrico Colantoni as 'Kenneth,' Crystal Finn as 'Joan/Alex/Beth,' Susannah Flood as 'Alice/Madeline/Ernie,' and Christopher Livingston as 'Billy/John.'

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the world premiere of 72 Miles to Go..., by Hilary Bettis, directed by Jo Bonney. 72 Miles to Go... opened officially on Tuesday, March 10. This will be a limited engagement at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).

The York Theatre Company to Present Industry Reading of COME THE DARKNESS Starring Courtney Reed and More

The York Theatre Company as part of its Developmental Reading Series, in association with Que Sera Sera Productions, will present a private industry reading of the new musical Come the Darkness, with book, music, and lyrics by Don Nolan at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's. Admission to the Friday, March 13 reading of Come the Darkness is by invitation only.

Up on the Marquee: AMERICAN BUFFALO Returns to Broadway

Rehearsals are underway for the Broadway revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo, which begins previews on March 24, 2020 with an official opening on April 14, 2020 at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 W 50th Street). This is a 16-week limited engagement through July 12, 2020.

Kristin Chenoweth and Santino Fontana to Perform at Signature Theatre's Sondheim Award Gala Honoring Carol Burnett

On April 6, 2020, Carol Burnett will receive the 2020 Stephen Sondheim Award, to be presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy. The award, established in 2009 in honor of America's most influential musical theater writer and composer, benefits Signature's artistic, education and community programs. Kristin Chenoweth and Santino Fontana will perform in Carol Burnett's honor along with Washington's own Tracy Lynn Olivera, Nova Y. Payton and Bobby Smith.
