The Educational Theatre Foundation is the beneficiary of the passion project of two industry veterans who have teamed up to honor the 25th Anniversary of Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World, featuring one of musical theatre’s most inspiring finales, Hear My Song.
David Hunter has certainly been busy during lockdown. We talk to him about his experience performing Songs For A New World at The London Palladium in October, getting to revisit it for a longer run at the Vaudeville Theatre next year and making creative Cameos for fans.
A who's who of stage, screen, and music stars came together virtually last night to help The 24 Hour Plays celebrate its milestone 20th Annual Broadway Gala. Hugh Dancy, Rachel Dratch, Carly Hughes, Gillian Jacobs and Bebe Neuwirth were among the incredible talents who teamed up to write, rehearse, produce, and perform six original plays in 24 hours. The performance was entirely LIVE and streamed in living rooms around the world!

Creative programming for theatre companies has become a do or die venture during the covid pandemic, so Starring Buffalo and Musicalfare Theatre have joined forces to give their own patrons and the world of the internet a chance to escape lockdown woes. Their recent online concert showcases two of Broadway's youngest and best talents. Zachary Noah Piser, who is the most recent alternate star of DEAR EVAN HANSEN on Broadway and in Toronto, and his partner Adam Rothenberg, Assistant Conductor of the eagerly awaited Broadway revival of COMPANY, came to town to perform an exciting live concert. Using Starring Buffalo's mantra of including Buffalo's own best talent alongside prodigious High School students, the concert was rounded out of Karen Harty and West Seneca West High School Senior Talia Mobley.

ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) of Connecticut has announced an extension for their production of The Last Five Years, currently in its third week of a successful “in-person” and livestream run of the show. The theater will be extending livestream performances for an additional weekend of shows (through November 22nd).
Although the show only ran for 105 performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs theater in 2008, the legacy of the show still lives on today. Enough so, that Netflix is in the process of adapting the show for the screen.
