Carol Burnett is one of the last living legends of Hollywood; she is the epitome of comedy. As a critic, this was a career highlight for me. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be in the same room with one of my heroes. On October 23, Ms. Burnett honored Long Island by appearing at the Tilles Center for 2 sold-out performances of her one-woman show: Carol Burnett: An Evening of Laughter and Reflection.

Last night, the Lincoln Center Fall Gala honored John E. Waldron for his continued support of the arts. Last night the Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) hosted its annual DGF Gala to celebrate artists and honor patrons of the American theater community in gratitude of their continued support of emerging writers and creators at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in NYC.  Jason Alexander may have said it best: “a world without writers is just mimes and improv.”

 The Trevor Project, the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people, today announced Cybill Shepherd as the 2019 recipient of the “Champion Award,” which recognizes the outstanding support of an ally and their commitment to supporting The Trevor Project's mission. The PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc. will be the recipient of the “20/20 Visionary Award,” presented to corporations supporting LGBTQ inclusion around the world. Both will be honored at the TrevorLIVE LA fundraising gala, Nov. 17, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

The Office's Kate Flannery has become an ABC's Dancing with the Stars favorite since she started competing in the reality television show in September. On Monday night, Flannery received enough votes to continue competing in the show.
