Tony Award-winner Bryan Cranston has shared that he expects the award-winning West End production of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons to transfer to Broadway next spring.

A polished NT Live filming of All My Sons arrives on screen as a compelling highlight of the National Theatre Live season on 16 April 2026, combining strong performances with assured direction. Led by Bryan Cranston and Marianne Jean-Baptiste, the play recording delivers emotional depth and tension layered in morality, which resonates far beyond the stage.

National Theatre Live has announced that the critically acclaimed production of All My Sons from Wessex Grove, Gavin Kalin Productions and Playful Productions is confirmed to join the 2026 cinema slate this spring.

This is Ivo van Hove’s triumphant return to the West End. He reunites with Bryan Cranston (whom he worked with on Network at the National theatre in 2017) for Arthur Miller’s All My Sons – famously, the playwright’s last attempt at writing a commercial success. Van Hove assembles a tremendous company (Cranston, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Paapa Essiedu, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Hayley Squires) to dissect the exploitative nature of the American Dream, giving a jarring picture of family and loyalty. This is, on the surface, quite the stylistic departure for van Hove. The director decided that less is more here and the result is astonishing.

Now a stage musical, John Cassavetes’ 1977 film Opening Night was a commercial flop when it was released, later becoming something of a cult classic of American independent cinema. Director Ivo Van Hove specialises in bringing work to the stage that may be called “challenging”. Challenging can be hugely successful, but I’ve rarely seen a production more determined to confuse and frustrate an audience.
