York Theatre Company Will Present The World Premiere Of CHEEK TO CHEEK: IRVING BERLIN IN HOLLYWOOD

The York Theatre Company will present the Off-Broadway premiere of Cheek to Cheek: Irving Berlin in Hollywood, a song and dance celebration featuring the music and lyrics of the legendary Irving Berlin, with book by Barry Kleinbort (13 Things About Ed Carpolotti) and music direction by David Hancock Turner (York's Desperate Measures), directed and choreographed by four-time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner (42nd Street, Dames at Sea, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, and Ain't Broadway Grand). Performances begin Friday, April 17, 2020 for a limited engagement through Sunday afternoon, May 17, 2020 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night is set for Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 6:45 p.m. Cast and creative team will be announced shortly.

From B'way producer William Franzblau to multi-Tony Award-winner Rupert Holmes-----the screams of laughter certainly woke up the otherwise quiet Tuesday (1/14/20) afternoon crowd at Broadway's venerable Sardi's restaurant. Fun backstage stories about out how the Broadway production of “Say Goodnight, Gracie” came together and the antics of the show's star--- the late Frank Gorshin were the talk of the afternoon. “Seems impossible that 18 years have slipped by so fast”—said Franzblau.

Tuesday January 14th was a fabulous night at the well known east side cabaret haunt, Pangea. The show: “Bits and Pieces” starring cabaret duo, singer/actress Barbara Bleier and theater/film actor/singer, Austin Pendleton. Their special guests were their show director, singer/actress, Barbara Maier Gustern and theater legend Richard Maltby, Jr. This was the second night in a three night run.

It's been a constant stream of theater and cabaret personalities flocking to see Tom Wopat at the Beach Cafe for the past 5 Wednesdays and his concluding night was no different. Enjoying the final show of the series were Michele Lee, Marilyn Maye, Linda Purl, Stacy Sullivan, Deborah Grace Winer, Jamie deRoy and Ken Fallin among others at the intimate East Side supper club. Tom will be returning to the club for a pre New Years Eve show.
