As credits rolled on a one of a kind screening of ROCKETMAN with the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra Thursday evening, Elton John and star Taron Egerton brought movie magic to life with an encore performance of best song hopeful '(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again.'

The filming of Young Wallander has just begun - the new Netflix original series based on Henning Mankell's best-selling Kurt Wallander novels. The cast includes Adam Pålsson (Kurt Wallander), Richard Dillane (Superintendent Hemberg), Leanne Best (Frida Rask), Ellise Chappell (Mona) and Yasen Atour (Reza). The series is created by Yellow Bird UK, a Banijay Group company, and the producer of the Swedish Wallander franchise at TV4 as well as the successful BBC series Wallander from 2008.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) presented $3.8 million at their annual Grants Banquet held at The Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, Calif. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

The 29th annual Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival (Inside Out), championing innovative LGBTQ filmmakers from across the globe, revealed its full feature and short film lineup. The announcement was made today by Inside Out's Executive Director Andria Wilson and the festival's Director of Programming Andrew Murphy. Inside Out, which launched the first ever annual LGBTQ Film Finance Forum, has established itself as an international home and incubator for LGBTQ emerging and established filmmakers. This year's festival will take place May 23 to June 2, 2019.

Billy Elliot o Musical is a musical based on the 2000 film Billy Elliot. The music is by Elton John, and the book and lyrics are by Lee Hall, who wrote the film's screenplay. The plot revolves around Billy, a motherless British boy who trades boxing gloves for ballet shoes. The story of his personal struggle and fulfillment are balanced against a counter-story of family and community strife caused by the 1984-85 UK miners' strike in County Durham, in North Eastern England. Hall's screenplay was inspired in part by A. J. Cronin's 1935 novel about a miners' strike, The Stars Look Down, to which the musical's opening song pays homage.

The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today unveiled its feature film lineup. Continuing its tradition of elevating exceptional storytelling rooted in today's global film communities, the 18th annual Festival will showcase debut works from emerging talent and new works from notable filmmakers. The program includes discoveries, comedies, music-centered, political and social films. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.  

During the auction lot for ROCKETMAN: an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John, Alexander Gilkes welcomed to the stage actor Taron Egerton, star of the upcoming motion picture film. Following a short preview of the trailer and a round of bidding on a trip to the London premiere of the film, the audience was taken by surprise when Gilkes asked Taron to sing one of Elton John's songs. Only agreeing to the performance if Elton played the piano, guests were brought to their feet as they watched Elton John take his position on the keys while Taron belted out the lyrics to one of his most beloved ballads, "Tiny Dancer."
