Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear have joined the creative team of Fred & Ginger, working with Marius de Vries and Mark Sonnenblick to recreate the couple's famous musical moments. Tony-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon is now set to choreograph the dance numbers. Jamie Bell and Margaret Qualley will play Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers.

Tessa Thompson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are attached to star in the new sci-fi thriller ASH, directed by Flying Lotus and based on an original screenplay written by Jonni Remmler. XYZ Films and GFC Films are to produce, with Neill Blomkamp (DISTRICT 9) and Echo Lake onboard as exec producers.

Curve has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming Made at Curve production of Billy Elliot the Musical. The first new UK production is directed by Nikolai Foster (A Chorus Line, Sunset Boulevard – At Home, West Side Story) and will run at the Leicester theatre for six weeks only from Thursday 7 July to Sunday 14 August.

Based on Lauren Beukes’ best-selling novel, “Shining Girls” follows Kirby Mazrachi (Moss) as a Chicago newspaper archivist whose journalistic ambitions were put on hold after enduring a traumatic assault. The series also stars Phillipa Soo, Amy Brenneman and Jamie Bell. 

Hailing from MRC Television, the metaphysical thriller stars and is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Mad Men”), ased on Lauren Beukes’ best-selling novel of the same name. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson and Michael Hampton also executive produce.

The musical will be choreographed by Lucy Hind (Girl From the North Country, The Last Ship) with full casting to be announced in due course.

The Hamilton star will serve as a series regular on the show, which is based on the novel of the same name by Lauren Beukes.

Jordan's Outlier Society and Safehouse Pictures attached. He is currently rewriting an adaptation of Ed Brubaker's Kill or Be Killed for Thunder Road (John Wick, Sicario).

Downtown Urban Arts Festival/DUAF has announced the top winners from its 18th season including Oregon-based Melissa Rose won Best Play for her play Baggage and Brandice Peltier (from New Jersey) won Best Short Play for Grocery Run. Michael B. Jordan will receive this year's “CinemaCon® Male Star of the Year Award,” Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon, announced today. CinemaCon, the official convention of NATO, will be held March 30-April 2 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
