POPCORN FALLS, Directed By Christian Borle, Will Play Final Performance November 25

After popping open at The Davenport Theatre this fall, Popcorn Falls, written by James Hindman and directed by Christian Borle, in his New York directorial debut, will play its final performance on Sunday, November 25, producers Schondeikkan Productions and D.T.R. Productions announced today. Popcorn Falls will have played 28 previews and 56 performances.

The new Off-Broadway comedy Popcorn Falls opened just last night, October 8, at the Davenport Theatre (354 W 45th Street). The production, written by James Hindman, is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle, in his New York directorial debut. Popcorn Falls stars Adam Heller and Tom Souhrada, playing over twenty roles in under ninety minutes.

Admittedly, when Long Island's Noel S. Ruiz Theatre announced they were going to have a run of the musical The Rat Pack Lounge, I was a little bewildered. The show hasn't been on Broadway, this is the first time it is being done in New York, and, honestly, there wasn't much overall information about the production as I was researching it. However... Sammy Davis, Jr., Ol' Blue Eyes, and Dean Martin? Pass me a martini because I am sold.

Broadway is Back at The Snug Theatre

Broadway actors James Hindman and Tom Souhrada, are returning to Riverbank Theatre's Snug Stage to perform Popcorn Falls and all proceeds will benefit Riverbank Stage Festival and Performing Arts Academy, a new initiative to bring a summer long performing arts festival to the shores of the St. Clair River. The show's Director and two-time Tony Award winner, Christian Borle is at our very own Snug Theatre helping the acting team fine tune the production for its New York debut. Borle, known for his portrayal of Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher, Shakespeare in Something Rotten!, and most recently Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, also had a starring role in the NBC hit Smash. James, also the playwright of the production, is a native of Michigan and is excited to have an opportunity to bring the work he loves back to his home state.
