He has announced that two thirds of the Old Vic's staff has been furloughed, and the rest have taken a pay cut. The National Theatre today announces nine productions that will play on the South Bank in 2020-2021 alongside previously announced shows. These run alongside our international touring productions, three plays that will tour to multiple venues across the UK and a West End transfer. The NT also announces today that it will increase the quantity of low-price tickets on the South Bank by 25%, with 250,000 available across the year at £20 or less.
DISABILITY MONOLOGUES Documentary Will Premiere on BBC America

BBC AMERICA has announced a new series of powerful short films, Disability Monologues (wt), focusing on challenging and changing the perception of disability. Writer and performer Mat Fraser (His Dark Materials, American Horror Story) will curate the six, 15-minute works, to be performed by himself, poet and playwright Jackie Hagan, Ruth Madeley (BBC AMERICA's The Watch), Robert Softley Gale (My Left/Right Foot), Liz Carr (Silent Witness) and more. The groundbreaking series is written, performed and directed entirely by people with disabilities and will premiere on BBC AMERICA in 2020.

A Christmas Carol, which opened on Broadway November 20, 2019, has just broken another box office record at the Lyceum Theatre. Adapted by Jack Thorne and directed by Matthew Warchus, A Christmas Carol grossed $954,054.40 over nine performances for the week ending December 29. It tops the house record previously held by Oh, Hello, the Nick Kroll and John Mulaney comedy that grossed $911,602 for the week ending January 1, 2017.
