NextStop’s production of 'Footloose' felt haphazard and emotionless, and what should have been a fun evening of theater and nostalgia was instead entirely lackluster.

NextStop Theatre invites the DC-Metro area to church with Chicken & Biscuits, which runs through April 6th. The show focuses on a Black family, the Jenkins, gathering in a reunion of sorts for the patriarch of their family's funeral. 

There isn’t anything quite like the dynamics between neighbors. You either are best friends with your neighbors, know them in passing, or they are strangers. In NextStop Theatre’s production of Native Gardens, written by Karen Zacarías and directed by Elena Velasco, Pablo (Gabriel Alejandro) and Tania (Cristina Sanchez), a young couple who are expecting a baby, moves into a historic Georgetown rowhouse, right next door to Virginia (Nicole Halmos) and Frank (Matthew Pauli), an older white couple.

What makes NextStop Theatre’s The Shawshank Redemption stand out is the dedication that the cast has to bringing these characters to life on stage without miming the performances from the movie.

Aaron Sorkin's original concept for The West Wing was a show depicting the behind-the-scenes workings of the White House, focusing on the President's top advisors and staff, with the President playing a very minor, cameo role.
