Kicking off The Human Race Theatre Company's 38th year, This is Tom Jones! makes its world premiere in September of 2023.

After an extensive international search guided by Arts Consulting Group, the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) introduced the next Ballet Artistic Director, Brandon Ragland, at a press conference held today from the lobby of the historic Victoria Theatre.

When going into a theatre to see a brand new musical, it is very difficult to know what exactly you are going to get.  Are you going to want to linger and hope there is more, or are you going to be hunting furiously for the exit?  I am happy to say that the world premier INDIGO now playing at the Human Race Theatre Company was the first of the two.  I love theatre but it isn’t often that I leave a show contemplating purchasing tickets for a return visit.  I still haven’t ruled it out.

The Human Race Theatre Company finishes its 37th year with the launch of a world premiere musical, Indigo, with book by Kait Kerrigan and music and lyrics by Scott Evan Davis.

 The Board of Trustees of The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) has announced that Brian B. Crowe will succeed Bonnie J. Monte as the company's new Artistic Director starting on January 1st of 2024.

For the upcoming 2023-2024 season, The Human Race Theatre Company sparks creativity, imagination and invention through a season of “Stories in Motion,” with shows inspired by or adapted from existing tales.

Up next at The Human Race Theatre Company: Barbecue, by Robert O’Hara, pairs America’s fascination for self-destruction with an unexpected twist in this hilarious and devastating comedy. Performances run from April 13 – 30, 2023 at the Loft Theatre.  

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati will present the commissioned world premiere dramedy Who All Over There? by Torie Wiggins. Things aren't always black and white—especially when it comes to relationships. Penned by the one of Cincinnati's favorite multi-hyphenate artists, this new play is inspired by the classic Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and shines a light on what happens when cultures clash in the name of love. April 11–30, 2023. Directed by Stori Ayers.

The Rewards of Being Frank, currently running through March 26, 2023 at the Mezzanine Theatre at ART/New York Theatres is now available for streaming, also through March 26 only.

Wright State Theatre will present Tom Stoppard's romantic play of ideas, ARCADIA at Wright State University's Creative Arts Center from February 3-12.

The winners have been announced for the 2022 BroadwayWorld Dayton Awards, honoring the best in regional productions, touring shows, and more which had their first performance between October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.

New York Classical Theatre and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will present the Off-Broadway premiere of the new play The Rewards of Being Frank, written by Alice Scovell and directed by New York Classical’s Stephen Burdman.

A Soldier’s Play comes to The Human Race Theatre Company in February 2023. Written by Charles Fuller and directed by Kenny Leon, the production stars Norm Lewis.
