This week, Theatre Calgary's Stafford Arima and Maya Choldin explained how their company is paving the way for emerging artists in the new digital age of theatre. Theatre Calgary (which is known for its cross-country collaboration and interpretations of old and new plays and musicals) jumped into the digital scene fairly quickly following the ending of in-person performances.

Alberta Theatre Projects is thrilled to announce Playwrights Projects 2021, a series of seven online workshop readings of new Canadian plays by members of the Alberta Theatre Projects Playwrights Unit. After receiving a BFA from the University of Calgary and working professionally in the local theatre community, Mir made the decision to move to Pakistan (where his family lives and also works in the arts industry) to pursue a career in film and television where he found incredible success. Three years later, he's back with The Shakespeare Company (where he made his start) to take on one of theatre's toughest roles.

Continuing our commitment to utilizing Calgary's rich acting and creative talent, this season will see us go on a journey from farce to greed, from a 'humbug' to  a prom, and from a prep-school to a meeting of legends.
