TexARTS Professional Series Presents ANNIE

The TexARTS Professional Series presents, Annie. Performances in Lakeway will be July 12- August 4. Annie is a perfect family-friendly musical with book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Martin Charnin. All performances are at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway.

Hayden James & NAATIONS Release Music Video For NOWHERE TO GO

Ahead of his highly-anticipated debut album, Between Us, Hayden James and NAATIONS have released a stunning new music video for the lead single, “Nowhere To Go.” Featuring the Venice-based all-female skateboard collective, GRLSWIRL, the summer anthem is set to a retro backdrop of sun-drenched tones and glowing city lights, cruising down the picturesque California coast. James first discovered GRLSWIRL during a recent trip to Venice during which he asked them to collaborate and is now giving them a platform to share their empowering mission.  

Huntington Theatre Company Presents THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL

Huntington Theatre Company is delighted to bring adventurous programming for the young and young at heart to Boston this summer with The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, an electrifying (Newsday) musical adaption of The New York Times best-selling novel written by Rick Riordan. The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical will play at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue, Boston). Performances begin July 17 and will run through July 28, 2019. Tickets go on sale to the general public Sunday, June 2.

Final Tickets Go On Sale For CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

The Sydney season of the spectacular new musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is coming to an end, with the season extended due to huge demand until 21 July. Tickets for the final two weeks will go on sale on Friday 31 May. Following the Sydney season, the production will play at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne from 9 August, and at the Lyric Theatre, Brisbane from March 2020.

The Shed Launches Open Call Commissioning Program May 30

Open Call, The Shed's commissioning and programming initiative for New York-based emerging artists, launches on Thursday, May 30, with new works by seven artists and collectives presented in The Griffin Theater over six weeks. The inaugural program continues June 19 through August 25 with a group show of 22 artists and collectives in Level 2 Gallery and presentations of new work by 15 artists and collectives in The Shed's open-air Plaza; a fourth group will be presented in 2020.

Hayden James Announces 'Between Us' 2019 Headline Tour

MOBY-DICK Selections To Preview At American Museum Of Natural History

On July 26 and 27, 2019, the American Museum of Natural History in association with the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University will present staged excerpts from Moby-Dick, a new musical adaptation of Herman Melville's classic 1851 novel, in the Museum's Milstein Hall of Ocean Life. Written by Tony-nominated composer Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) and directed by Tony nominee Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812; Hadestown), this adaptation, which will receive its world premiere at A.R.T. in December 2019, reimagines Melville's 19th-century classic for a 21st-century America.

North Shore Civic Ballet Launches Spring Auction

The North Shore Civic Ballet (NSCB), a nonprofit, 501c(3) dance company based in Marblehead, Massachusetts at the Marblehead School of Ballet, launches its annual online spring auction this month. The NSCB's auction website page, www.biddingforgood.com/ballet, opens for bids on Friday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m. and continues through Friday, June 14, closing at 6:00 p.m. The auction's proceeds provide aspiring dancers with the resources and training needed to study ballet and perform in the North Shore region.

Deaf And Hearing Broadway Vets Reunite For Presentation Of New Musical STEPCHILD

A recipient of DCA's inaugural CreateNYC Disability Forward Fund, IRT Theater will present six work in progress presentations of the new musical, Stepchild. This fully accessible piece is a radical retelling of Cinderella, seen through the eyes of a young Deaf woman coming of age in a kingdom violently intolerant of difference. All presentations will take place at IRT's Greenwich Village home from May 29- June 2, 2019.
