Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing have announced the North American tour of the Tony and Grammy Award-winning hit musical Beautiful- The Carole King Musical will welcome Kennedy Caughell (Carole King), James D. Gish (Gerry Goffin), Kathryn Boswell (Cynthia Weil), James Michael Lambert (Barry Mann), Matt Loehr (Don Kirshner) and Rachel Coloff (Genie Klein) to the Company. Beautiful a?" The Carole King Musical will make its Easton premiere at the State Theatre on Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30PM. Tickets for this show sold out within the first hour of public sales after the two-week period of Member sales.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Beautiful: The Carole King Musical will end its Broadway run this fall. BEAUTIFUL began performances at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Nov. 21, 2013, and officially opened on Jan. 12, 2014. So, by the time the beloved musical ends its run, it will have run on Broadway for nearly six years.

Adelaide will get to see Beautiful, The Carole King Musical, after all, following the city being cut from a 2018 national tour. David Gauci and his Davine Productions will present the Grammy-winning musical at the refurbished Star Theatre, Hilton, during the 2020 Fringe Festival.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Broadway veteran Andrew Kober will take over as 'Don Kirshner' in Broadway's Beautiful starting July 16. Kober steps in for Paul Anthony Stewart, who will return to the show on Tuesday, September 3.

To manage everyone's expectations, 'Beautiful: The Carole King Musical' is not entirely about the life and music of the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter. Although Carole King's emergence into the popular music scene is what the audiences will follow from start to end, we feel that this show has more to offer than just a summarization of King's life and musicography. This is not to accuse that the show's title is misleading ('Beautiful' is a song from her Grammy-winning album 'Tapestry'). In fact, the other elements present in the show sufficiently give this production a rightful claim to that adjective in its title.

Jukebox musicals have become a too dominant form both on Broadway and for its touring cousins. The music is familiar and audiences flock to relive old favorites. "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" playing this week at Starlight Theatre is one of the best of this form. It is very entertaining and works very well on KC's huge, outdoor, crown venue.
