Gatsby? What Gatsby? When you hear this charming protagonist's name, what images flash through your head?  Lavish parties dripping with elegance?  An atmosphere of abandoned care filled to the ceiling with social climbers?  Pearls, fringe, and feathers that drape over the silhouettes of dancing women?  Smoke and mirrors that orchestrate a timeless vortex of pure magic?  'The Great Gatsby' has extended beyond the realm of high school reading curriculum, and has become an iconic entity synonymous with the 1920's.  The 1925 novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald has inspired certain adaptations including ballets, television episodes of popular shows, computer games, and most famously the 2013 film adaptation starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire.  The Orlando Shakepeare Theater continues this legacy with their production of the stage adaptation by Simon Levy which opened on February 8th.

MainStage Irving-Las Colinas continues its 2015-16 Light the Lights! season with Simon Levy's all-new adaptation based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, THE GREAT GATSBY. The production will open on May 13 and run through the 28 at the Irving Arts Center's Dupree Theater (3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75062). All evening performances are at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Tickets range from $19-28 and are on sale now at the Irving Arts Center Box Office (972.252.2787/ www.irvingartscenter.com). Ticket discounts are available for seniors and students.

Ruby in the Dust's Gatsby, which plays at the Union Theatre this April, is proud to announce the cast to their jazz musical adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's epitome of glitz, glamour and the end of the American Dream. The cast includes The Only Way is Essex star Ferne McCann in her theatre debut.

Now on stage at the Hilberry Theatre at Wayne State University is The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance production of THE GREAT GATSBY.  This moving drama tells the story of greed, betrayal and inequality in the fictional town of West Egg on prosperous Long Island in the summer of 1922.  The young and mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby (played marvelously by Santino Craven) has a  quixotic passion and obsession for the beautiful former debutante Daisy Buchanan (played beautifully by Devri Chism).  The drama brings the classic 1925 novel written by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald to life.

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 60th Anniversary Season with Montana Repertory Theatre's new theatrical adaptation of The Great Gatsby on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 3pm. F. Scott Fitzgerald's captivating story of romance and betrayal is brought to life in Simon Levy's finely crafted adaptation for the stage.
