11 independent filmmakers developing 10 projects have been selected for the 2020 Sundance Institute Directors and Screenwriters Labs, reimagined and expressed digitally this year on Sundance Co//ab. These Labs are at the heart of the nonprofit Institute's long-standing support for artists, and will connect curated selections of Fellows with Creative Advisors and Industry mentors across multiple disciplines.

Young Alumni Commissioning Project Award Recipients Announced

George Mason University's College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) has announced the second round of Young Alumni Commissioning Project Award Recipients. The Hylton Performing Arts Center officially opened the Education and Rehearsal Wing with a ribbon cutting celebration December 3, 2019. The $13.5 million expansion on George Mason University's Science and Technology Campus, added 17,000 square feet and includes two rehearsal halls, six practice rooms, two classrooms, and two additional lobby spaces, allowing the community to utilize the Hylton Center in an expanded way to educate, rehearse, perform, and collaborate.

George Mason University's College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) released today a request for proposals for the Young Alumni Commissioning Project, which provides crucial support for the artistic development of recent alumni. This is the second year of the program, which issues grants to up to three CVPA alumni for the creation of original work, to be presented by the College at a Mason venue during the 2020-21 season. The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, January 31, 2020. The commission recipients will be announced in April 2020.
