The Audio Publishers Association (APA) have announced finalists for the 2022 Audie Awards. Finalists include Cynthia Erivo for Best Female Narrator and Lin-Manuel Miranda for Best Male Narrator. Tony nominee and Emmy Award-winning actress, singer, and recording artist Liz Callaway sang 'Let it Go' from Disney's Frozen in her car yesterday. According to the video description, Liz writes, 'I love singing in my car. Most of the AutoTunes videos I post here, are songs I am currently practicing for gigs.' 

Long Island's largest year-round professional theatrical venue, The Argyle Theatre (Mark and Dylan Perlman, Executive Producers & Managing Partners; Evan Pappas, Artistic Director), presents the World Premiere of PUNK ROCK GIRL with book and arrangements by Tony-nominated Long Island Composer Joe Iconis (Broadway's Be More Chill), arrangements and orchestrations by Rob Rokicki (Broadway's The Lightning Thief), directed and choreographed by Jennifer Werner (Worldwide Associate for Book Of Mormon), musical direction by Jennifer Peacock, and in partnership with Lively McCabe Entertainment. The show opened on January 22 and will run through February 27, 2022.

BAM will host a series of events on Monday, January 17, 2022, in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Anchoring the celebration is the 36th annual Brooklyn Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., which will take place in the Howard Gilman Opera House and also be available via livestream at 10:30am.

The Dry is directed by Robert Connolly (Balibo, Paper Planes) and co-written by Harry Cripps (“Supernova”) and Robert Connolly based on the book by Jane Harper.  The film stars Eric Bana (Munich, The Other Boleyn Girl), Genevieve O'Reilly (Star Wars franchise), Keir O'Donnell (American Sniper) and John Polson (The Boys). Nominations were announced today for the Sydney Theatre Awards for 2021, which will be presented at an industry gala ceremony on Monday 31 January 2022 at 7pm at the York Theatre, Seymour Centre.

New Hampshire Theatre Project is presenting The Winter Solstice in Story and Song on demand through the month of December to celebrate the holidays this year.  Genevieve Aichele, NHTP Executive Director says of this production, “In this time, when the dark of night comes so early and stays so long, this beautiful performance brings light and hope, what a wonderful metaphor for us all.”

Just yesterday, Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara stepped in as soloist with The New York Pops, replacing the previously announced Laura Benanti, who withdrew from the event due to an exposure to COVID-19 in her family. The festive program, led by New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke included traditional carols and contemporary classics. 

The Australian Theatre Festival is an annual celebration of Australian stories and artists in New York City that included three staged readings of Australian plays, including the 2020 New Play Award Winner, The Tiniest Thing by Richard Jordan, a cabaret at The Green Room 42, an industry panel and a community networking event.
