On Saturday, the Tin Pan Alley American Popular Music Project in collaboration with the Flatiron 23rd Street Partnership presented a free, outdoor public concert at the Flatiron North Plaza featuring more than two dozen leading performers of Tin Pan Alley music and the Great American Songbook.
Directed by Austin Pendleton (Fiddler on the Roof) and with music direction by Nancy Ford (I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road), the cast of four will feature Anita Gillette (Moonstruck) as Amanda Wingfield, Piper Goodeve (Anne of Green Gables) as Laura Wingfield, Jeff Kready (Tootsie) as Jim O'Connor, and Howard McGillin (The Phantom of the Opera) as Tom Wingfield.
On Friday, October 15, I had the pleasure of seeing yet another phenomenal production by Fairfield Center Stage, an innovative theatre company that continues to go that extra mile to bring the audience fresh new experiences with familiar shows that Fairfield Center Stage brings to life in positive ways that the audience has never seen before. Here we go, again, with MAMMA MIA!, which is written by Catherine Johnson, based on the Swedish group Abba’s songs that were written by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. Performed outdoors on the back lawn of the Scandinavian Club, in Fairfield, CT, the venue fits the show perfectly! With the help of the strong skills of choreographer Kelsey Kaminski, executive producer Eli Newsom and artistic director Christy McIntosh-Newsom bring out the best in this outstanding cast of talented actors and actresses who have tremendous stage chemistry with each other. The cast members all shine forth with positive energy that radiates outwards through the audience, creating a positive vibe that enhances the audience’s enjoyment of this production, seeing how much the performers are clearly enjoying their roles.

The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues will return on Tuesday, October 5th, with an all new series of unforgettable performances. Eighteen actors have been paired with writers who have crafted unique pieces especially for them. From 6 PM until 10 PM, new monologues will be published every 15 minutes.

Although NHTP's doors were essentially closed to the public over the past 18 months, many different creative projects emerged from this program, including the WDKWTIY Podcast, a collection of interviews from community members and creative responses from New Hampshire artists.
